Primitive Skills

Күн бұрын

Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!
How about you? Your life is definitely different from mine.
Have fun watching the video!

It would be an honor to meet the parents & family of such a dedicated young man. I say "young man" because I turn 58 years old in just a few days. I love in Washington State near Mt. Rainier now and was raised in the mtns just 15 miles south if Mt. St. Helens before-during & after it erupted 05/18/1980. I am an Eagle scout, was in Search & rescue from 14yrs old until 1989. Have always backpacked, camped, hunted, fished, hiked & rock climbed in the Cascade mtns. Hats off to you, young sir fir taking the challenge & taming the wilderness. 😎👍

What you do might be more important than you think. These videos will last through the ages and show countless people that they can appreciate what they take for granted. I must say though... Working constantly with sharp objects and cutting things so close to your feet and hands, I'm surprised you haven't had terrible scars/splinters. I wonder if it is because you grew up very coordinated and dexterous... I've noticed people my age(your age) aren't as careful, hard-working, or flexible and I wonder if it is because your upbringing was "a lot of hard work..." My friend, bravo. Keep doing what you love doing, and we'll be here to appreciate your adventures.

What I find so amazing and interesting is that where you live, nature provides materials for almost any purpose, if you know which plants and stones or soil to use. These trees with the soft core, for example, are ideal for pipes ezc.. There is leem on almost every corner, as well as many edible plants and roots, and if you want meat you can eat rats, fish or other living creatures :) I find it amazing to live in such a paradise, unfortunately here in Europe there is not such a large variety of plants etc. so for us such a task of living purely from nature would be a lot more difficult. I would love to join you on your way, since years I`m dreaming of living off the grid like you. I am fascinated every time I see this huge half-Great Wall of China behind your property, all the stones made and built by yourself, what an incredible challenge - great job!

I have watched most your videos. I think your Awsome. Your wife looks like she works just as hard as you do. I am a hard worker and problem solver, but mostly an arrest. My father was an engineer and worked on ships that went to space. He ended up in the mountains of Colorado in United States doing much like you only a little more technology. I was a teacher for 35 years and still teach children when ever I am around them. Live to see you with your girls. You are a good teacher too. Thank you for sharing your life. Hope to meet you in heaven some day.

Thumbs up!!! You have clay and a large kiln to make kitchen plates and bowls, why not make clay roofing tiles? They last forever and its rarely that you would have to replace a tile or a few tiles. You could stand many air-dried tiles on end and fire them until fire-hardened. The job would be over in very little time. Just a friendly suggestion from a viewer, who has watched your channel grow from the start. Thanks for all the great videos in the past. Looking for many more in the future! Clark

Duong is proof positive that we can live simply, harmoniously, integrative with Mother nature. We complex life w/more is better, pass laws that corrupt our politicians & oppress our people. Thru the years this man has bleed, sweat & toiled for a single purpose. To live simply & love & provide for his family. We couldn't ask for any more examples of what it means 2b human.

We have some Caryota Mitis (Fishtail Palm Trees) in Southern Florida, USA. It is hot and humid here like a tropical rain forest too! 🌴😎🌴 I am always afraid your going to hurt or cut yourself with your axe or machete. How would you get help if your injuries are life threatening? Can you do first aid to stop the bleeding? Home remedies for pain? Just curious how you would handle an emergency being all alone. Thanks for your videos, they are very informative and interesting to watch. I liked the floating chicken coop but I also like the new one too! 🐔🐔🐤🐥

Great video as always. But I've one question if you don't mind... Why not replace the roof with clay roof tiles? I mean, you've clay as shown in other videos and a oven/furnace to cure them. They are not hard to make, and yes the rain will end up eroding the clay... but still will last longer than wood. The only thing you'll have to do in the structure is increase the number of beams on the ceiling.
