Hi Zach, im torn between the cinema 40 and the SR8015, the 8015 is £400 cheaper and has better power output. Is it a no brainer to go for the 8015 ?

I would hold off on an upgrade unless your going up to separates. The 7015 is still a great unit. Wait till the next generation comes out for a significant upgrade. I’m going to cross compare last years models vs the cinema line to help with making a buying decision. I would focus on other upgrades in the room before the AVR right now. I´ve got mine Cinema 40 this week and really happy with it. But as this is positioned as a Premium product above the Cinema 50 i would have expected a better Remote (like the one on the separates). The remote is nice but it doesn´t feel premium.

Glad to hear you like the unit. Agreed that would be nice but they do have to show a big upgrade on all aspects going to the AV10. I do like that you get that backlit front panel on the cinema 40! 😍

Tommy, I got mine 3-4 weeks ago and I totally agree with you on the remote. I thought it was going to be aluminum but it’s plastic and the center selector feels too rubbery and cheap, almost like it won’t last that long.

I’ve been reading that the bass is tuned up more for the 40 over the 50. I did have the 50 and the bass was lacking for me! Have you noticed a difference?

I just purchased a Marantz Cinema 40 to replace my Parasound 7100 surround controller and Parasound 5125 five channel amp. The Parasound system is great, but it’s old. The Marantz sounds good and when I connect my Parasound, 5125 amplifier to it, it sounds even more powerful. My question is. When I connect my Parasound amplifier to the Marantz Cinema, 40, am I losing any sound quality? Is it better just to hear directly from the Cinema 40 instead of connecting the Parasound? The sound quality sounds to the same to me, but it does sound more powerful when the Parasound amplifier is connected to it.

Great review, but I have a question? I own the Marantz AV8805A and The MM8077 amp , yet I don’t seem to be getting the sound I like with the B&W CM 9 speakers, with REL S-3 subwoofers. Do you have any suggestions for me to get better audio quality?

I have an opportunity to get a great deal on the 40 to replace my AV7705. I use a miniDSP for bass and don't care about Dirac. I know I would gain Dirac, but do you think it would perform better besides that? I would use it in pre-mode, except maybe the Atmos channels.

Look nice. I have a Denon x6700h, I don't know if it makes sense to do so, but man I want switch it out and get this new Cinema 40. Quick question about a possible feature that's not so important but kind of cool. Another tuber made a short on the AV10 showing how to press pure direct and mdax simultaneously for 5 seconds to turn the accent lighting from white to blue. I wonder if that would work on the cinema 40. like I said not important but cool if you can.

I need help. I want to build my very own 5.2 or 7.2 configuration using all Klipsch Reference Premiere Series speakers. Will the Cinema 40 be able to handle all these speakers (Power Wise) or will I need to get an amplifier for my Main Front Speakers & Center Speaker & use the main AVR for the remainder of the speakers? Im brand new to this so im doing my research properly & asking questions.
