I’ve never had luck sublimating anything with a curve, but I have a couple of these wine tumblers so I’m going to try one of your designs. What time/temperature do you think would be best?

Make sure your tumblers are the straight wall ones and not the tapered wine ones. Also consult the supplier for time and temp as all have different time. I indicate in the video what I use for mine, I keep tweaking the time. I do around 6min 20 sec at 350 with my oven and supplier. Yours will be unique to you. Start with what the supplier says. And don’t skimp on the tape and prep or it won’t work :). Cut every fringe. Tape every fringe. Follow the video exactly and tweak to your liking as you get better and more consistent

Does the shrink wrap work with this "fringe" instead of using so much tape?

I don’t use shrink wrap but you are welcome to try. If you have any loose areas anywhere you will get ghosting. That is on the rim, on the edges and also in the fringe. It’s just how subbing works. Because the curve is tapered and the paper isn’t super tight there, extra tape on the curve is a good idea. You can use shrink wrap instead of the painters tape. I like painters tape better and it’s actually cheaper :) Tape is cheap. Tumblers aren’t :). Whenever I skimp on tape I end up with a tumbler that isn’t perfect.

I've purchased glitter designs online. I print them on my true sublimation printer but when I sublimate onto mug tumbler I don't get the glittery look that is pictured. Yours looks shiny was there a separate step you took for that look? Please and thank you Vivi

Hi. No I’m just using a glossy wine sublimation blank. Lots of things come into play with your end product. Quality of design, type of faux glitter image used, quality of your blanks and your prints. You will not get a true glitter look you will get a faux glitter look. It won’t sparkle but some have sparkle images in it to help it appear as they might. You can also buy glitter blanks or iridescent blanks which have different coating. Hope this helps.

About how many strip should be cut or how wide of strips?

I do include a full written tutorial and a sample in my designs. It’s a trial and error but I found my layout worked fairly well.
