I bought a convector oven two year ago and never use it because the tumbler press seemed easier. NO, I’ve ruined at lease 15 tumblers. The good news is, I didn’t throw them away. So now I’m learning how to do epoxy. Anyway, I just ordered the sleeves and will be using the oven for tumblers and my press for cups only. Great video!❤

Oh, didn’t have any heavy duty thread, so I put together about 6 strands of regular thread until I can get some. It worked. … And they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

A lady had suggested to me to use silicon bracelets to place at the top and bottom of the tumbler to help hold the paper felt to the tumbler to help it to transfer the ink properly. That paper that you put on the bottom could have been held on by a silicone bracelet too. Love these ideas Juan. Hope you’re doing well.

The paper didn’t shrink, the tumbler expanded due to the heat. Always make the print a little larger for this reason. I also save time by simply leaving about a 1/4 inch white border on top and bottom instead of cutting separate pieces out.
@TheRobjanesse3 жыл бұрын
Do you just slit your white border and tape it inside the cup and to the bottom?

What kind of paper did you use to cover the bottom of the tumbler? I am using Asub paper in my Epson SureColor F170. I heard some types of paper will burn in the ovens. I had paper scorch in my mug-press which I expected.

Does it have to be a convection oven? Can I use a large toaster oven that I have? Of course, it is not convection and it does not have turbo. If the oven doesn’t have turbo, do you need to leave it in longer?
@LibertyGraphicDesigns2 жыл бұрын
GREAT QUESTION! No. it does not have to be convection oven, convection just means that it will circulate the heat evenly through out the oven whereas the regular oven (toaster or regular oven) will have hot spots the convection eliminates hot spots by incorporating a fan inside the oven that's all nothing fancy.

I use a Cooks convection oven. After preheat, it is 3 minutes exactly at 400 degrees. You can leave them to sit to cool, or peel it off immediately. I cool mine in the fridge for 5 minutes before removing the wrap or the print.

Do you know why my shrink wrap burst open about half way through the 4-minute process? I used an oven thermometer to make sure the temp was correct after the first one burst, but the second one burst also. Could my thread be too thick?

make sure you don't over hat (over shrink) the wrap, it sounds like the shrink wrap was way too tight before you put it in the oven.
