I saw someone bring up once that in a lot of ways, this is Hohenheim’s story just as much as it is Ed and Al’s, because he spent so long wandering the world and when he find found Trisha and had Ed and Al he had everything he wanted, except for the ability to die with them. When he tried to find that, he ended up finding out about the Father’s plan and had to leave his family behind to stop him. Sure he wasn’t always around, but in the end he still did his best to make the best life for his children and sacrificed so much for their well-being. Also, when we have that scene of Hohenheim looking coldly at Ed and Al before he left when they were babies, in reality he looked cold like that because he was trying not to cry.

The fact that Hohenheim calculated the circle of the moon's shadow when the eclipse happens and positioning his philosopher stones right where they need to be to form the perfect transmutation circle to counter Father... We can see where Ed and Al's genius minds come from

One thing to note is that Ed doesn't turn himself into a philosopher stone to kill Pride. He does it to be able to pull Pride out, to save him in a sense. Ed understands the value of life, so he doesn't kill anyone, even if they're trying to kill him. One of the reasons why I love this show so much.

Yep, in most shows the heroic main character never wants to kill people but ends un doing it in some arc, also being selfish about that trait(like assuming there are no consequences or whining about it). Ed doesn't kill anyone and shoulders the consequences upon himself rather than whine and make excuses.

This story is so good, i love all the character arcs and the development of the characters, its poetic that it is Scar the one who has to "heal" Amestris alchemy after what happened to his people, he is a crucial part of saving all the people... And to think his brother was ahead of all and knew what was happening and was creating a plan to countereffect the influence of the Father over Amestris' alchemy all those years before is mindblowing. Also, its the first time in the whole show the "Main theme" plays with Al, it has always been Ed's theme, but when he made the ultimate sacrifice to save his brother and give him a chance to fight he also became the Full Metal Alchemist. I cry everytime

theres so many heartfelt goosebump moments in these final episodes... bradley thanking humans before his death, pride thinking of his "parents" before he was reverted into a mini baby, greed realizing what he wanted, al sacrificing himself, the revelation of scar's brother's research....scar's bro is a hero and scar filled with vengeance risked his life to fulfill that research. brings tears to my eyes!

I'M FINALLY CAUGHT UP!!! I've been binge watching all ur FMB Reaction, and i love all ur theories & speculations, and then knowing some of them right and some of them are just so wrong, like i did. Yes, this anime man. THIS ANIME. The whole trope of calling the main characters name on the climax of the story is sooo cheesy, but good lord they use it so well in this anime. Your reaction to this anime is like everything i was when i watched this way back when. And obv u can binge it now, but i had to wait weekly back then when it first aired. Even as far as watching it mid-class in college, and found out by my professor and being reprimand it by him. XD This story is so good i think it worth the amnesia for it to relive the experience again tbh. The japanese VAs act THE HELL out of themselves for this one. It's funny how Bradely said there is no god but gets blinded at the perfect moment by the sun. This could be seen as couindance, but as that booked Ed and Al read said, when the moon and the sun comes to gather it creates a perfect being which is god.

Uh, no. Because if her was beating god then how could the god be present in the white void where Al sacrificed his soul for the had of his brother. Also If father absorbed god he could just change the law of Alchemy and become invincible and could have not given Ed his arm back. The right sentence is Ed was beating the crap out of someone who think he has the power of god under his control. Also Did you notice that when bradley had pinned down scar and said that God didn't exist ,it was a Godly or miraculous intervention by the Eclipse from where the ray of Light came to distract bradley so that scar could take him down. It was only Luck that saved scar at that movement .In earliar episodes it has been mentioned that bradley will suffer the wrath of god and god's hammer will surely end him .it came directly from eclipse which was mentioned as the entity God himself/herself.

@@kshitizrai4919 Father has a portion of god. He took the god from the worlds portal of truth, but as Truth always says when asked, he is one, he is all, and he is also you. He is a part of everything, and everything is a part of him. (hence why he takes the rough shape and personality of whoever approaches him.) So father does have the power of god, but only the portion of god that was in the earth's gateway.

You can say Father absorbed the some cosmic power but it ain't God . Maybe its some another concept of Alchemy. I've seen both FMA's dub and sub, and despite my personal preference for the dub Pride's Japanese VA in his final scene was stellar! I could feel the emotion in every bit of intonation (the voice cracks tho, literally too :P ). Also the animation of Ed forcing his way inside Selim, was beautifully done! The show's way of giving most of the antagonists a poetic ending is masterful as well: - In her final moment, Lust kinda lusted at Mustang - taking pleasure in having a man like him finish her off - Gluttony met his end getting eaten by someone who was hungry. - Basically being too jealous, Envy commited suicide. - Sloth exerted himself too much, dying of exhaustion and having to constantly heal (not to mention the irony of him being the fastest Homunculus lol) - Wrath dying peacefully, pretty much angerless - Selim setting his pride aside, tried escaping through a simple "lesser being"

They are, and the Liore events were actually the first chapter of the Manga, (Ep 1 is anime-original, and Ep 2 was a later flashback) so it's a First Boss/Last Boss callback, so to speak.

Wrath rambling about how there is no God and immediately getting blinded by the sun's rays reflecting off his sword into his Ultimate Eye, which allows an Ishvalan monk to kill him... I mean, bruh. And yes, despite Wrath fighting the most characters out of all Homunculi by far, it simply had to be Scar to kill the embodiment of Wrath at the end of his revenge-based character arc. Chef's kiss.

Brotherhood has the best ending compared to the 2003 series but the 2003 series had a better start. I remember them showing how installing Ed's automail requires the each nerve to be connected (and the pain was shown to be excruciating). Another thing I love about anime is when the main character gain so much acknowledgement, that people call out to him/her during the last fight. It really brings out the emotions. OMG I LOVE ANIME !!!
