Found your channel a few weeks ago, I’m just getting a chance to watch your older videos and learn more about you. I really admire the way you live life. I’m a little envious! You mentioned your dad coming up from the north GA mountains. I live in the northwest corner of SC near the border with GA/NC. I’ve spent a lot of time in the mountains of GA/NC/SC/TN. It’s a beautiful place to live, but Alaska is truly beautiful. Hopefully when the kids are grown, I’ll be able to visit Alaska. Love your videos man. Living the adventures along with you. Also love the construction videos. Awesome channel!!!

Looks like you are really having a great time and have a fantastic home on wheels. I say enjoy and keep the videos coming. I do want to point out that when you mention that Americans spend 37% of their income on housing that when you buy a home in most areas of this country, and when you sell later in life that you do stand to get all your money plus much more back. We lived in a home we purchased for 27 years and when we sold that home not only did we get all our money back but walked away with over 500k in profit that we used to buy our retirement home / detached shop on 10 acres in the Sierra Mountains. We do have an RV and travel frequently and love that but having a home to return to is also really nice. Just our experience, I completely respect yours and wish you all the best.

buying a house has become much harder these days. Thats why many people would rather go this route than waste $ on rent.
@jimm24422 жыл бұрын
@@tkelly1087 It was just as hard 40 years ago when interest rates were 11%. We (my wife and I) had to work over 2 weeks just to pay the mortgage payment. Rent at that time was 1/4 of the cost. i'm not saying that our decision was the right decision for everyone but it certainly was for us.

Love everything about it, Period. I designed my own camper with a solar-oven (polypropylene greenhouse panels) over the cab. This would get hot enough to not only cook with but also dry wood and clothes and have a vent system to help heat or cool (vents draw out the hot air) the living space. And instead of a woodstove, I designed a rocket mass stove that holds the heat longer. Whether any of this would be practical, who knows, but I can dream can't I? :D

Been living in a cargo trailer of some sort since Memorial Day weekend 2020. I took it to go camping, then instead of setting up a tent, I proceeded to set it up gradually for the next 2.5 yrs until I sold my house and upgraded from a 16' windowless cargo trailer to a 28' ATC Toy Hauler RV, 1 year ago this month. My 2012 F-150 finally threw a code 9 months into pulling the 28' so I bought a Craigslist Bulletproofed '06 6.0. Time will tell just how bullet proofed but it pulled the ATC 6hrs round trip just fine. I would prefer better than 7.23 mpg but that could be an injector. I have 3 cargo trailers and a flatbed trailer now so I will keep the F-150 around when I have to shuffle trailers or tow my F-250 somewhere. Elohel... 🤫
