I remmeber reading that the champions league game against Borussia Dortmund in his final year really affected him to say enoughs a enough as he missed a few chances and utd went out

haha classic ending...I was there at Selhurst park that night...I had flown over to catch two matches....the Man Utd v Blackburn match that Eric scored the winner with a header near the end with Shearer in the team fighting to win the league and then in London I went to see the Palace match.....I remember it was very difficult to get to the ground.....still have my ticket

WOW!! Just WOW!! I was standing in the rain on the old north stand at Stamford Bridge in 1992 when he scored his first goal for us. I ended up about 5 rows away from my old man after we finished celebrating!! I was at the game at Stamford Bridge the following season as well when he nearly scored from near the halfway line, it hit the bar. Absolute legend. We wouldn’t have won the league in the 92/93 season if he hadn’t joined us.
