Worse than other English team in champions league history. This seasons Europa he drew the first 3 games against utter shite teams. How can people make him blameless for what we paid for Anthony. He was 38 million Euros 4 weeks earlier but we ended paying £82 million. Obviously he insisted on getting his man no matter the cost. He threw De Gea out the club and replaced him with a £50 million clown who couldn't lace big Daves boots. £72 million for Hojlund???? He let Rashford get away with murder and still picked him. Amad saved his job but didn't rate him and wouldn't start him. He left us with fuck all left in the bank and in 13th place in the league. I'd argue that he got considerably longer than he should have got. I'm still firmly in the camp that Ineos should have stuck by their guns and sacked him after the cup final. You guys are seriously dumb. We’ve been heading to this point for over 10 years. Players like Mainoo and Garnacho went from unheard of to two of the hottest prospects in world football under Ten Hag in only a season and a half. Imagine what he could have done if he was given the 4 years for example it took Sir Alex to do anything. I’m confident it will be over 50 years before we get a manager that achieves what Erik did in his 2 season. But it’s what you all wanted and now you’re sticking up for a pound land Jose Mourinho that genuinely thinks Manchester United should play in a back 5, without wingers and create zero chances for 90 mins. Just accept it, Amorim is nowhere near Ten hag. I knew it and said things would get worse if we sacked Erik, I said this manager wouldn’t fancy Mainoo and Garnacho when everyone else said ‘imagine what a better coach could do with these players’ such a deluded fanbase it’s unreal. Ten Hag was an attack minded coach and could have rebuilt the entire club with the core values of Manchester United, he’s one of the very best at developing youth players and that just facts. He was perfect for this club in its current situation. But now we’ve gone a complete different route, all the players are now wrong for this system and we have no money to sort that other than to sell our best academy players which would be the final nail in the coffin for traditions and history this club is still clinging on to. Yoro is too young to compare (but has looked promising). Mazraoui looked good as one of the CBs as well and I think we'll see him more there now Martinez is out and we have a FB/WB.

For me Mount signing was the worst out of the lot. Dare I say worse than Antony for £80mil. We gave £50mil + to our direct rivals for a player leaving on a free the following summer, in a position we didn’t need, for an injury prone declining player that his boyhood club didn’t even want to keep anymore. He’s barely played a single memorable game for us and now we can’t afford to sign anyone when we need it most. Absolutely criminal…

Call out the Glazers, medical, recruitment, Murtough, Woodward and Arnold instead of TH. If anything TH reinstalled discipline and developed youth for Amorim to build on.

Exactly. Ten Hag brought through promising youth players while having to oust the players Rangnick had issues with, and gets no credit for winning two trophies in that time.

We'd be higher in the table than we are now if we'd held onto ETH. Woodward was slammed and rightly so for jumping from LVG to Jose as their styles were completely opposite to each other. Ineos have done exactly the same thing. Is it any wonder Amorim is struggling? Granted ETH seemed oblivious to playing a cdm. Changed for the last 4 or 5 games at the end of last season playing Amrobat and the structure looked way better. Ruud comes in and instantly brings Ugarte into the team. Shape looks way better. The question really is "Is 343 the best system to play in modern football?" Is there enough width or pace in wide areas to get behind teams? Imho its a no. For me I'd be happier with 433 (not 4231). A straight 433 with three workhorses/ballplayers in midfield who can dominate the ball and quick tricky wingers. Plenty of good players in this squad but this system isn't bringing the best out of them. Who identified these CF's tho because they should only be back up/development strikers not our main options

very true. We jumped from one style of manager to another. And it always seems the manager has the wrong type of players to play his system. Even if you look at Liverpool you can see how Rodgers, Klopp and Slott have a similar style.
@AnMallach4 күн бұрын
@ The jump from Ole to Ten Hag wasn't too much of a shift. Just the moral of the squad was shot and the big transfers hadn't worked. Bringing back Ronaldo is still the biggest mistake of the post fergie era in my opinion. completely upset the balance of a squad lacking in leaders. We needed leaders to emerge not be overshadowed by a fading light. we are still paying for all these bad decisions. Liverpool definitely have their succession planning in order both in players and management.

I don't blame Ten Hag at all. Despite the worst injury crisis ever, he still got us to 3 finals in two years, and won two of them.
@FordyA296 күн бұрын
Should've waited till Summer to get Amorim, bringing him in after a rough start, knowing he has a completely different formation we barely have the players for and then failing to do any meaningful business in Jan has set him up for disaster. Ruud interim wouldn't have been this bad. Blame the glazers rot but also blame Ineos and muppets that decided to stick with ten hag and then 180 to a completely different kind of manager.

INEOS ruined us by appointing Amorim. Think of the money we would have saved if we just kept Ruud till the end of the season. Erik Ten Hag is the only manager that has gotten a tune out of our youth. Hojlund looked like a good prospect under him. Garnacho was arguably the best player we had last season and was our top scorer this season under ETH and hasn't had one since. Mainoo looked so good under Ten Hag very anonymous under Amorim. Collyer and Gore was also introduced to the team by ETH. Amad was probably the only one that ETH missed but Ruud gets the credit for him.

3 finals 2 cups over 60 injuries in one season! 16 of them where center backs 19 different partnerships at center of defence. Yet we couldn’t win a league without Keano and city are shit without Rodri. When eth first came he was the manger the ceo the painter and decorator and the bloody plumber aswell. Also had to deal with a lad who would rather play fifa than be at anfield also Ronaldo who does an interview has a United player haha you couldn’t make it up with piers Morgan. And he still won us trophies. Gave debuts to some of our brightest players we have now in mainoo, garnacho, Amad , Toby colyer. Etc etc. let’s got to 8th place finish that season over 60 injuries. You guys honestly telling me Amorim could do better let me remind you we are fighting relegation right now!! Ten Haag had a complete circus around him and he still won trophies!! While the rest of you couldn’t wipe your own backside without mummy’s help.

Glad most United fans are smart enough to see the real problems and not fall for this bullshit. Honestly, to blame Ten Hag for money spent on signings, rather than the Glazers and the people they put in charge and the money they haemorrhaged out of the club. The lack of planning, the lack of competence for years. Or to say that Amorim must hate Ten Hag, like it's Ten Hag's fault that none of the players know how to play a 3-4-3 system, not that the club is too ass backwards to find a manager who would be a better fit for the squad we have.

Joe, Adam......I know you want to put a positive spin on the mess we're in, and sorry to say this but;...Ifs, buts and maybes won't get United into the top four, let alone get us into the latter stages of the Champions League. The Glazers debt is not being paid off Old Trafford is not being repaired Staff are being laid off Match Day Ticket Prices have gone up to £66 (no concessions) The Staff Christmas Party was cancelled Staff Transport to the Cup Final was cancelled Open top parade was cancelled after the FA Cup Final Christmas Bonuses were cut Charity payment to the Ex Players Benevolent Fund was cut Sir Alex's Stipend was cut Robson, Irwin and Coles ambassadorial roles were reduced Stewards bonuses have been cut United signed two 17 year olds and a 20 year old....loaned out 3 first team players including our current highest goal scorer and 5 Academy players, were trying to sell/loan Casemiro, sell Lindelof and Eriksen and were close to selling Garnacho...on top of that Martinez will be out for 8-12 months, Shaw is a liability and Mount is not far behind. How many of our squad are actually bad players? How many of those were bad when they were bought? How many of those were playing well in a different league, in a different country, in a different formation and system that they were familiar with and thrived in? How many of those players played well in the Champions League......how many former United managers had a good record at other clubs? How many of those clubs that United recruited from were well run, didn't have massive debts, didn't have a bad culture within the club and the dressing room? How many of those clubs had players downing tools, conspiring against their managers, leaking information to the Press? How many other clubs had players giving interviews exposing the conditions and lack of investment in the club..or said they were ready for a new challenge? The mess we're in has been 20 years in the Making, this isn't on Ten Haag....it's ALL ON THE GLAZERS....ALL OF IT!!

ETH wanted different players but didn’t get them. Saying 85 million for Anthony when we were offered Anthony for £40 million and the club didn’t go in and get him until Ajax sold all their players is the problem fans seem to forget. He wanted Gakpo and the club failed to get him too, whilst failing to get sell Maguire, Scott, martial, Sancho, etc. The club were so bad at transfer activity that ETH got 4 or 5 loan players in 2 years and two free players past their best. He had to deal with Ronaldo saga, Greenwood, Sancho, Rashford and his problems. Also a full season with barely any defenders and often midfielders. City lose Rodri and aren’t so good anymore but ETH had like 30+ injuries but it was a played off as an excuse. Lastly, ETH came in under the glazers and had to deal with the takeover saga too…..he was only under INEOS for a few months.

this is dumb, united has never had the tradition of blaming the gaffer, this is a recent thing and we have paid for it in blood, matter of fact, the best times were when United just let the gaffer lead, bruv stop, the gaffer isn't the one playing, so how we forgiving the Rashfords who become divas straight out of Academy and start missing stuff coz they were clubbing. Wow

Amorim for me was sold a pipe dream and lured in with the promise of ultimate backing, but instead he’s been put there as the fall guy because he’s chummy with the media and has a bit of charisma. He should have stuck to his guns and stayed at Sporting where he’d no doubt win trophies and compete in the CL. Instead he’s come into a real mess that no manager could have fixed, and then put in the limelight for any failings. This club has ruined footballers and managers alike for over a decade now. Disgusting

Come on! Ten Hag finished 3rd and won 2 trophies, but with a good system that fits better in the League 4-3-3! Amorim's system will never work in the Premier League. Premier League is not the same as the Portuguese League, high tempo you don't have time to switch from 5 at the back, which it usually is, to attack. We see it time and time again, but you just don't want to see it, too bad.

*Maybe* Dorgu attacking down the left will create spaces and opportunities for our forwards *Maybe* Amorim and the coaches can help Hojlund turn things around and start to get goals But what about if one or both of them get injured? Are they going to play every match? Zirkzee has had more impact on games but even if he was on his best ever form he won't score many goals. We have no backup options. Hojlund should never have come in so young as MANCHESTER UNITED's starting striker and clearly it hasn't worked so we needed someone else. Extending Ten Hag and then spending a fortune sacking him - and presumably a golden fuck off for Ashworth as well - looking like awful decisions.
