Cutting the negligible expenses on staff benefits, disabled supporters funding, etc is not going to make a single modicum of difference when it comes to competing with the other top clubs in the Premier League. For perspective, the £40,000 Man Utd spend on the Disabled Supporters Association each year equates to approximately 36 hours of Anthony's salary. It would take 44 years for the savings made on reduced staff Christmas bonuses to cover the cost of Dan Ashworth's alleged pay-out after being sacked (not including the buy-out paid to Newcastle and 5 months of salary). The total saving on staff bonuses probably equates to the entire annual salary of a single, relatively junior, admin worker. The morale-driven reduction in performance from staff as a result of constant redundancies and poorer working conditions will probably far outweigh the positive impact of such miniscule savings. If you price fans out of attending games then you lose your next generation of fans. The next generation are far less likely to follow Man Utd religiously if they weren't afforded the opportunity to attend matches as children. Instead they turn to piracy and illegal streams and pay you next to nothing over their lives. INEOS are casting aside the lifeblood of the club, the fans and local community who have kept Man Utd afloat for over a century, for short-term negligible gains. Bayern Munich charge €140 for a season ticket in the standing section of the Allianz Arena and have been far more competitive in Europe over the last decade than Man Utd. As Bayern President Uli Hoeness once said: “We could charge more than £104 [for a season ticket]. Let's say we charged £300. We'd get £2m more in income, but what's £2m to us? In a transfer discussion you argue about that sum for five minutes. But the difference between £104 and £300 is huge for the fan. We do not think the fans are like cows, who you milk,”

Cutting a fraction of £40,000 for the disabled supporters association is not increasing revenue. That is negligible and insignificant. Doesn't even pay Anthony for 1 day. A club that can afford to spend £80m on Anthony and £72 million on Hojlund doesn't need to maximise revenue at all costs, it needs to spend its existing revenue in a more competent manner. If you allowed a competently run club like Newcastle, Villa, or Brighton to spend £1.2 bn (net) on players and accrue the fourth highest wage bill in the world over the next decade they would win league titles and Champions League trophies yet Man Utd have a Europa League and a few FA Cups for the same expenditure and same timeframe. If you have the opportunity to generate more revenue from new sponsorship deals or a player recruitment strategy then sure, take it but the club has no reason whatsoever to milk fans for every penny they have, especially not the most vulnerable in OAPs, children and disabled supporters, or price out the average working class fan who, alongside his ancestors, kept the club afloat for over a century to cash in on wealthy tourists and corporate seats.

Even if they cannot continue to spend at the rate in which they have in the past, they do not need to. These perspectives surprise me, we are now holding up the glazers spend and burn strategy as something to behold, United have not made a profit since 2019 and every year the deficit has increased, meaning it’s more expensive to borrow. As of 2024 the club owes around 1 billion, which increases every year. The glazer’s have used every method available to keep milking the club, from more borrowing, to floating the club, which is why we are here. Probably pisses people off but you have somebody now who has invested Money (glazers did not), not taking money out of the club ( glazers did) and is dealing with financial peril.

My entire point is that, as every consistently successful team over the past decade have proven, Man Utd does not need to spend at such excessive levels to be competitive. Man Utd are more than capable of being competitive whilst operating in the black through COMPETENT use of the financial resources that they already have rather than squeezing every conceivable penny out of fans and extreme cost-cutting measures. Man Utd generate more than enough revenue to be competitive at the highest level and remain profitable; players far better than those in the current squad were available over the past 10 years for far lower prices than what Man Utd paid for their overabundance of dead wood. A competent back room set up would have been able to identify them. Sure, extra revenue is always welcome, but the tangible benefit that the likes of the £45,000 saved in staff Christmas bonuses or £20,000 saved on the Disabled Supporters Association will actually bring to the club are enormously outweighed by the reputational damage, drop in staff morale and performance, and impact on local supporters.

INEOS are doing exactly what they are FORCED TO DO, they cant sell any players at a loss, they need to buy players, tuey either sell the best players that are pure profit or they dramatically cut costs, yes we were bloated, but EVERY penny helps with PSR, the debt only incurs 20m loss a year...its all about FFP not penny pinching, no UCL is a 70m loss, plus 15m loss from Adidas we can only lose 30m a year..what do you want them to do?

This is my surprised face that a tax dodging malicious billionaire is stripping back a well established outfit and punishing the people at the bottom to make more profit. They're parasites. I said it from the cusp of all this when it was announced the Glazers were possibly looking to sell. We should have done an ex player consortium that was backed by the entire UTD fan base via a subscription/fan union and cooperative type situation. I'd have happily paid £100 a year or something to be a member of the fans union. Millions of other fans would be too, lots already pay for season tickets and UTD membership already to get tickets easier.

Full sale would have made little difference, as much as I still wish it happened. We pay 20m interest on the clubs debt, that's not much, the dividends are also small. By getting a full sale we would save only 30m a year maximum that we could spend, that's the only difference, yes they could spend on the stadium and women's team, but Newcastle are the richest club in the world yet they cant spend it for similar reasons, their owners and ours amortised forward, they bought players and pay them off over many years, but a player needs to be off the books for some time, ie paid off....before we can make a profit, and no profit means no sales unless they are pure profit like Garnacho and Rashford and Mainoo and like McTom was last season
