Welcome back ! another 10th scale video today we finished our Losi tenacity DB Pro build (mini DBXLE)
On this buggy we are running a Castle creations Copperhead 10 sensored esc and 1412 3200kv sensored motor.
for steering we upgraded to a protek 370 tbl servo with the exotek steering rack.
Front, rear and center got new upgraded housings from Vivaton with oversized bearings.These are very nice quality and machine work . you can get them on their ebay store.
Front and rear got the Lightned and strengthened drive cups and axles by Tekno Rc. get them at amain hobbies or tekno rc.
Motor cooling Matt over @fanwercs on ebay or fb built us a single 4s 25k rpm alum housed fan. this thing is a monster. we run it off our 4s balance port . no need for an extra battery on this car.
Center drivlines and cups got the MIP drive puck system. it's lighter and stronger than stock again to keep the weight of rotational mass down. this makes acceleration faster .
Underneath we put the RPM skid plates on on finish it up, and custom mounted a traxxas sealed receiver box to house our Futaba Rx for our T4PM radio.
for tires we run the mx 28 belted badlands by Proline.
on 4s this little buggy is a complete animal and now that it's bulletproof we can really run it hard thanks for watching! stay tuned for some video of it on the race track and bashing.

any reason you ditched the old motor and esc? what gearing are you running?

Wanted to go sensored, old motor was only 3s capable this is 4s. It has a 17T pinion and stock spur. I should habe gone like a 10 or 11 pinion tho for the track

That fan is awesome. You did a great job routing your wiring. Some people do complete upgrades similar to this and leave the motor leads and low voltage conductors looking like spaghettis. Yours looks clean and organized. Everything on your DB Pro looks sano. 💯💯

Thank you! Yes the wires drive me crazy I guess it's somewhat ocd but I always try and clean the harness up as much as possible . I'll have a new video up soon of my current dbxl project it is even more tidy haha . Anyhow thanks for watching

I would like to see inside you receiver box Can you place the receiver on it's bottom instead of on it's side ? I'm about to change the position on my Losi Tenacity DB pro. Thanks Ian from UK 🇬🇧

I see you used the Traxxas receiver box for your DB. Have you tried or do you know if it is a better fit than the Tekno receiver box

I was thinking of doing this exact build. Were the stock driveshafts junk or did you upgrade just for longevity?

The c cups on the front and rear siff are pretty poor quality I broke two of them in just a few weeks and the rest has pitting from.the dog bones after a short time. I just wanted something beefier. Plus all.the stuff is lightened so it helps the car accelerate fast. It's been very solid so far. Been running it at a race track without issue

Trust me from experience don't do it. You will regret wasting all the money on the build unless you like replacing gears and expensive parts constantly. I put exotek f/r bulkheads and diff housings, vitavon center trans and a mamba x with a 1415 motor. I ended up putting stock parts back in because everything I drove it I blew a diff, rear ring and pinion gear set or driveshaft pins snap even using the tekno driveshafts and outdrives. Obviously it's your choice and I won't try to tell you what to do. But I personally wouldn't recommend doing that to your tenacity. The losi driveline just can't handle the extra power and added weight.

@RCKYOTA84 ouch! you lost your ass man but I don't blame you. I never drive mine its on the shelf with a blown rear diff again lol I've thought about fixing and selling it for a better truck. Xmaxx or outcast 8s maybe idk lol
@RCKYOTA
@RCKYOTA 10 ай бұрын
@tristanw9008 I bought it used for 200 originally and I got the motor and esc for free as a test unit . Made some money on selling jt actually. Have never seen a used one sell for more than 500 tbh. Anyhow I got the tlr typhon in exchange . For a rig of that size it's way more beef. The problem with the db pro is its the size and weight of an 8th scale but it has bascially 10th scale crawler size running gear. I've owned xmaxx too the runnijg gear is junk also. I recommend the dbxle 2.0 for a large scale rig . Check out some of my other videos for that stuff.

Yeah the db pro needs a beefy driveline like arrma 6s mohave has. I've had one for two years and beat the snot out of it and it's still box stock other than the reciever and hub bearings. Never broken a thing. My buddy has the typhoon 6s and it's a tank as well. I'm looking at the arrma outcast 8s exb or the dbxle for large scale as my next truck. I'm a little nervous to go with losi again lol

Running 4s do your diffs get super hot? Others have complained about the puck system failing under 4s power, how do you like it? Cool build!
@RCKYOTA
@RCKYOTA 3 жыл бұрын
They do get pretty hot. Especially doing high speed . But that's normal there is alot of friction in there. On a normal car they use a fluid to cool the ring and pinion. We just use light grease on these. The pucks system works great if you maintain it properly. If I'm going to a race track ill grease the pucks so they can slide freely. So far they have been great. Super lightweight so the car accelerates faster.
