Sam you have to cut off that small part of the chasis, a little on top no cutting underneath is required. I didn’t need to take the engine out. You can also bend the turbo manifold a bit. I have version 2 turbo kit installed from CXRacing.

you probably cut the piece out of the frame but you could just send it with a hood dump and use the down pipe and flip it and cut it.

I ran into this same issue.. I didnt end up cutting the chasis, I cut the downpipe and moved the v-band flange as close to the downward bend as possible, made it work! CX Racing sucks!

Sam take it to an exhaust shop I took it to an exhaust shop and they made me a down pipe for my 1.6 for $100 and it’s so much better. There’s enough room to run one without cutting just take it to a shop

Hey Sam, I think Jimmy Oakes helped his friend RJ put this kit on a NA6. In the Video "PROJECT TURBO MIATA: READY TO SPOOL!! pt.3" at time stamp 6:50 you can see him looking at the down pipe and they didn't seem to have to cut any of the body. I'm not sure if he altered his kit or anything behind the scenes. Heck he may have even gotten a slightly different kit I'm not sure if CX racing has changed anything. Either way I know you have had contact with Adam LZ and Adam and Jimmy are friends. You maybe able to get in contact with Jimmy to figure out what he did special. All of this may not be useful, but wanted to at least try to help. Keep up the awesome videos! I was thinking about buying this kit. Not sure anymore with the luck you have had.

Remove the vband section and run a t3 or t25 flange straight off the turbo. You gain a lot of room removing the vband adapter. Then just weld to the flange.

The issue is the wastegate is part of that adapter since it's internally gated

I mixed my fuel line up as well!!! Bahaha I don’t know why they made the liner reverse to how they’re sitting. The hard lines are the opposite of where the fuel rail lines are, took me about 20 min of scratching my head to figure out what had happened.

You have to get ATI damper. That oil pump you have is strong enough to take the violent vibrations from the power you’re going for, but with the stock damper, those vibrations still exist. Buy it. You’ll be happy you did.

It doesn't matter how close you are on the planet, the signal still needs to travel to the satellite in orbit and back down again. The variation in lag is very minimal and due to relativistic speeds. Yee

I have no experience with the cxracing junk kit, but plenty with turbo miatas. You should not have to cut a lot of the firewall shelf for the downpipe to clear. Just remove the manifold and you should have plenty of clearance to fit a 4" angle grinder. Another issue could be the tab on the trans bell housing. It is common to cut that off as well. Again, it's not hard to cut off with the engine trans in the car, just use an angle grinder .

You don’t have to cut anything. Other then a hole in the body above the wheel well for the intercooler piping. It comes with everything except a mega squirt and dash fitting for oil And gauges. My friends have this kit and both Miata’s were easy to install.

I have the V2 CX RACING turbo kit on my 1990 miata I did not have to cut the frame I just slithered it through the Bottom instead of fitting it through the top

I don't see why you couldn't customize the downpipe by welding a "Y" section sporting twin pipes half the size. They should be able to squeeze past in a parallel fashion yet still providing the flow needed

Had a flying miata turbo kit that used no gasket between the wastegate to elbow downpipe and from elbow downpipe to main downpipe, no leaks ever, and they stated to never put one there since it is machined perfectly flat and a gasket will fail if placed in there. I wouldnt have the same faith in cxracing kit though. Nice build man!

i had some delays dealing with cxracing kit myself bmw s50 kit was pretty much not greatly designed. missing oil feed adapters from block to feed line, air filter didnt fit in the location it was supposed to, turbo manifold bolt wholes were not lining up with the head a simle weekend job turned into a couple weeks project in the end they helped fix the delays and made it right

At least yours isn’t structural when I did my first na to turbo swap on my legacy I had to cut the front subframe to fit the up pipe in then weld pieces in to give it its strength back after it was in and I sent you a message on Instagram
