Fully magnetized Tau Hammerhead/Skyray/Devilfish

good guide but tbh you dont need to magnetize the SMS / burst cannons as they are snap fit

what sized magnets do you use mainly for this build? 5x3?

I really messed upa s a kid and I glued the chin sensor bit on... will be cutting it up I think with a dremel, probably can get it to work.

Where did you get the third burst cannon from? Picked up a kit today and it only has two. I'm guessing they either changed the kit in the last 5 years or you had a spare kicking around. Good job though, looking forward to magnetizing mine.

Sorry, I can't really remember. I thought you got three in the kit, but I probably had one spare then. I think it still is the same kit. Good luck with your build :)

@@ThunderfireMac no worries, was worth a shot. GW probably figured that as any one vessel would have two max cannons then why give a third.

sorry for the necro, but how were you able to get the magnets inside for the sms attachment (at 0:51)? Kinda hard to angle a drill unless you take one of the pillars off

@@ThunderfireMac hey man thanks for the reply. Did you just cut across one of the Pillars straight? Is it noticeable(that there's a cut or damage) once you get it all glued back together? (I'm assuming that's the white line I see at 1:34?) Thanks again!

I have the same problem as well, I wanted to magnetize it but found that hard to drill so i never did it in the end

MackiMac Sorry I meant what did you use inside the turret to secure the magnet to. I ended up using a piece of sprue and it works but your looks much cleaner. Same for the white piece of plastic you used on the main turret as well.

I just cut the burst cannon that is supossed to be there in half.

Hammerhead kit doesn't come with the burst cannon on the front turret..it's the sensor array thing..you did it the same as with he bomber/fighter but if just buying the hammerhead kit you would have to jury rig something to attach it to
