This is one of the best magnetized versions I have seen. Well done and thanks for showing us how.

you can use the 2 mm magnets for the support sytems they are smaller and lighter than the main weapons.
@WarhammerDad6 жыл бұрын
Probably. I used the smallest I had on hand and they do fine.

I just magnetized the crap out of my first Broadside. This was a helpful video! I didn’t use the exact same magnets or method, but it was still an excellent jumping off point.

The fact that the algorithm suggested me this, makes me fear what is ahead!

I have had nothing but problems with these and found out everybody has had the same issues haha Magnetizing the arms for both variations is a pain, and I secretly dont think GW wanted you to be able to. But ill be darned if its going to stop us. Good Job.

Thanks, broadsides are some of the tougher models. Tyranids top it though :)

you could have cut the front of the rail gun off and magnetized the front part and magnetized one missile pod. less magnets more secure and it looks awsome.
@WarhammerDad8 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I am always hesitant to cut parts of the weapon itself. Much less forgiving of mistakes. It is a good idea though.

After I cut off the knobs. I drill all the way through both side torsos. I then put magnets all the way through. So both arms will have opposite polarities. I then fill the edge with green stuff. Making notches so when they dry and you put the arms back on the notches interlock a d hold up the weight instead of sliding downwards. I've done three. I will likely never magnetize a broadside again.

Also of note. Messiest work in my whole army. But it's under the arms so...

Can you do a magnetising guide for other tau models such as commander?
@WarhammerDad Жыл бұрын
If my son adds more models to his Army, I will. I am not playing as much 40K the last couple of years...no reason, just moving a lot and not getting into a community yet.

Suggestion: Dremel off the barrel of the rail rifle, then cut the high yield missile pods off, then attach your base magnet on the hull of the rail rifle, and attach magnets to the missile and barrel sections. Less magnets, less work imo. Good video. Thanks for the ideas and securement tips

What size magnets did you use in mm?
@WarhammerDad8 жыл бұрын
Not sure exactly as I use US standard, but google says 1/8th is 3.17m mm; 1/32 is .79375; 1/16th is 1.5875mm and 3/16th is 4.76mm. I am not sure what mm sizes are typical though.

Hi I know I’m quite late to this video but wanted to ask what hobby knife you would recommend? Or should I just go for a Stanley knife? I’m mainly looking on amazon but anything is helpful. Thanks
@WarhammerDad4 жыл бұрын
I use a generic hobby knife that lets me change out the blades. I picked it up at a hobby store. I mostly use #11 blades. For cutting foam I use a Stanley fat max.
