That was an awesone video. It help me to understand how I will kind of adapt the water systems to my off grid property in Spain. Thank you

Hi Ian, for the waste, I connect from waste outlets as you show then I create a gentle slope for the actual pipe using lengths of string with a knot on one end to go into skirt rail and a loop at the bottom for the waste pipe, each length being longer than the previous one, gently sloping towards the waste at the rear of caravan, it works perfectly on our caravan (identical to yours) with no trip hazards when changing toilet cassette. Happy Caravanning

Good idea Simon. This setup has worked for us so far. Normally the flexi pipes would have been under the caravan behind the steady. Not tripped on anything as yet lol.

thank you for this informative video?/clip. it does seem however that extra "stress" is placed on your grey water exit "u" pipes by NOT using the/a L or supported flexible pipes. however im sure a simple support for it/them would suffice. please keep up the good work

Thanks for the video, we have stayed at Blakemere too, love it, and it’s near home. Off to Llandulas in July on a serviced pitch for the first time, so off to buy more bits 😂

In addition to the ballcock, we carry a short 18" length of rigid caravan pipework (we had it spare), clipped to 3" of hose and a hoselock connector. This goes into the aquaroll alongside the pump and connects to the blue hose to run to a nearby shared tap to refill. (Please disconnect from the tap after use) Can save a lot of walking and filling.

Hi Ian. As you know fully serviced pitches are our favs. We highly recommend the Colapz Pipes and we love our Whale Water Master System. This an ideal video for New Folk coming into the Caravan Hobby. Thanks Phil👍🙂

Yeah... I hope this video helps the new starters. I remember us watching others on site setup as we knew nothing really. Got there in the end with the help from KZbin videos.

Same setup as we use and works a treat. The Colapz flexi waste pipes are really versatile with the added bonus of they make a great noise when you extend and contract them 😀 Cheers for this one, great info 👍

Why thank you fellow Merseysiders. Yeah I have heard a few horror stories about the plug in direct water feed. Feel safer with this system.

Very informative as ever Ian, we have a flat hose with Ballcock to use when we use a fully serviced pitch. Didn’t know about the grey waste extensions though so I will be investing in some of those!

Thanks guys... I think the ballcock system is safer IMHO. Here is the link for the flexi waste pipes from Colapz. They are excellent. colapz.co.uk/collections/flexi-waste-pipes

Enjoyed the video Ian. I see your van has the truma connection. We are big fans of fully serviced pitches. I have been using the Whale Watermaster direct connection for 8 years and never had a problem. It has a built in pressure reducer as does the Truma Ultraflow Waterline direct connection. I only ever turn the outside tap off when we go out for the day, other than that I leave it on. Thanks for sharing and take care. Rob
@ForTheLoveOfCaravans3 жыл бұрын
cheers Rob. I think it's safe to use but I have heard a couple of horror stories. I find the ball cock system is easy to set up and works for us. Ian...

We had the same problem, our blue hose was a bit short, so we now have a 15m flat hose, also the waste kit only had 4 hoses, so we got another 2 just incase. Would suggest not buy a fresh water kit, just but the ballcock and then buy hose separately. Great video, keep safe👍Mark & Coral

Cheers guys... the extra hose has been on the to buy list for some time. I will get around to buying it one day.

Good run through of a fully serviced pitch, we use them a lot! Haven’t tried the Whale direct water supply hose, still a bit wary of it and it’s expensive. Cheers

Cheers Martin... same reason I stick to the ball cock system. Heard a few horror stories about flooded vans.

@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans I've had both ,I find the ballcock system better ,the direct system can restrict water flow rate.
@kevinwalker78793 жыл бұрын
You can buy the ballcock kit in Aldi
@ForTheLoveOfCaravans3 жыл бұрын
Safer system than the direct water feed in my opinion. Will be a bargain price from Aldi.

The direct line into the van you have to be careful of the pressure on the connections inside the van.I have had problems with leaks inside.

Hi Ian, bought blue hose, long grey hose and adjustable Y fitting for fully serviced pitches. Sadly, the hose connection to barrel (float) leaks like a seive. Apart from using ptfe tape not sure what I can do, any ideas? Thanks 👍
@ForTheLoveOfCaravans2 жыл бұрын
hmmm my float works fine, not had any issues with that. The hose joint leaked but like you said a little PTFE tape sorted that. When I bought the hoses I took them apart and re did them as tight as I could turn them.
@fat-shotgolf29372 жыл бұрын
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans thanks Ian. I think I'll bring the gear up to the house and do as you've suggested - tighten it all up and lashings of ptfe tape. Thanks, Alan
@ForTheLoveOfCaravans2 жыл бұрын
@@fat-shotgolf2937 It's what I did... I made sure the part you push into the pipe was as far as it would go then tightened the other part as tight as I could get it.
