Today marks 1 year since my pet bird died. Even after a year, it still hurts my heart to even acknowledge that he's gone. Before he was in my life, i was already at a low point in my life but he lightened up my life more than i couldve imagined. He really was the light at the end of the tunnel. When he died, my world came crashing down and i was close to the edge. But somehow, i kept living. Although not easy, i live to honour the loving and joyous memories we had. Pet grief sucks.. 🙃

I've run out of things to lose. Just never thought I'd be starting from scratch at 41. Except now I'm just exhausted. Walking 5 miles to work isn't an option. Most days the only thing keeping me grounded is my cat, and pet mouse. Because my life wasn't chaotic enough. Now I have a real life Tom and Jerry episode. They aren't friends off screen either. Currently having a tough time, in grad school abroad with all the pressures that come with it, away from everyone and everything familiar, by myself, going through a break up because LDR is tough. The thoughts of living life alone and loneliness are scary and depressing. But I woke up this morning to this song sent by one of my best friends, 'I constantly remembered you when I heard this song' he said. Somehow all my other (best)friends which are separated by seas, telepathically reaching out to me too in this difficult time, as if they know, they just know (I didn't tell them what I am currently going through). I thought I was alone in this world facing through challenges and difficulties but then I realized I have great friends and family with me. It's the lacking on my side to unable to realize this sooner, but I am glad that it's not too late to be grateful for what I have instead of focusing on what I am losing. I don't think you fully understand what your impact this song carries. I lost my father on November 5th, 2022. 2 days after his birthday and only 3 weeks after finding out he had stage 4 cancer. It was a hard hit to our family. I was close to my Dad he was my best friend. When I lost him, I'd never lost anyone that close to me.
