I'm trying to find the fabric in Ireland or UK as postage and import charges are too high...also when I find some of Edytas fabric it's never the whole range or even a good mix...think it's the fabric as well as the patterns which make Laundry Basket Quilts stand out❤️❤️

I am also struggling with the stars. I reviewed the KZbin on making an eight point star (on the fat quarter shop). That helped. But, I think I will set those aside for now and do this weeks blocks. Then, I will go back to the stars.

Hi Kathy Barrow. I just jumped in with semi colored fabric to test. First two blocks crappy. Then LISTENED to Edyta to keep trying. The 3rd block not too bad🤪 still needs improvement but. Keep going The satisfaction is overwhelming once achieved ! Go for it ! Good luck

My stars won’t lay flat, Y seams are so much trouble I’m trying other methods: appliqué and piecing from HST. Also, even when I sewed my 8 3/4” strips for my backgrounds for center star together, I could only squeeze out 7 not 8! And my fabric is 46” wide… 😞

I’m still struggling with the stars too, Mariah. I’ve seen some made with half square triangles. I may also have to go that route. 😳

@@mariahbath2085 I’ve tried and tried. They all end up smaller than 5”. I’m loving all the other parts and can’t wait to see how this beautiful quilt turns out for everyone. 😊

My stars are finishing at 5” so I’ve added 2” strips to the 8 wedge pieces. Right now (ready for appliqué) it measures 47” square, so I will be adjusting upwards as I go. Pretty sure it will finish 10” or so larger on each side, which is great, since I prefer a larger quilt

@@mariahbath2085 I am working on all the other parts of the quilt. Almost done with the outside border pieces. (I added an inch to the neutrals to make the quilt a bit larger) I’m also thinking of adding an additional row of quarter square triangles on the outside of the star border. When I have all those pieces done I will go back to working on the stars. I also like a larger quilt. Hoping that by adding the extra border and the extra inch to the outside border I can add 6” all around. 😊
