Great shout out on Greg, couldn't agree more! Also, even the sealed pokemon game market scares me haha. Alluding back to your little number game you played, just looking on eBay, or heritage, or Facebook groups, it seems EVERYONE has some sealed pokemon games they are looking to sell or show off. And sure, these could all get absorbed into the market in the next 1-3 years and we'll be thinking back to the "good old years" when you could get a sealed Pokemon Blue no problem. But man, I hate having to rely on insane demand meeting high supply when I'm paying current value for something.

Glad you guys thought my take was interesting. Just to clarify because I didn't do so; I was referring to more modern consoles like the PS4, XBOX One, and even PS3, 360 going way up in price due to the 9th generation consoles being so scarce. Right now people are selling used PS4s and XBOX ONEs for just as much if not over for what they originally sold for new. It was challenging for me just to find a new OEM PS4 controller that wasn't being sold second hand for at least $20 more. Resellers and scalpers know that at the end of the day people just want something to play so they're making the older stuff harder to get too since the 9th gen consoles and latest video cards are almost impossible to get. My Nvidia GTX 1660s cost me $230 last year in October. Now it costs between $500 to almost $800 on eBay. Scalpers know that people who want a RTX 3070 or 3060ti will try to secure a placeholder card until prices come down, so they're scalping the cheaper cards too. Same thing with consoles. The PS4s and XBONEs would normally drop in price after the new consoles come out. They didn't, they went up. The PS5, Xbox SX, and RTX scalping has caused this snowball effect that's even reaching down to PS3 and 360 prices. BTW I think all the locals here know what game store you're talking about that doesn't have a business phone and is open when ever the owner wants it to be. The name of the store rhymes with Lame Clover lol

Great video! I think it's a great idea to periodically do video responses to comments that spark up quality talking points. It gives viewers incentive to put effort into well-thought comments which will create even more interesting content when making video responses. That's a self-amplifying feedback loop! Keep up the good work, guys!

Thank you brother. The hardest part about doing a video like this, to your point. There wasnt very many questions. Most people when they comment nowadays make statements, versus asking questions, so it can be hard to create a discussion.

What do you guys think of the 3DO? I think it's a very underrated console that came out at the wrong time.

Gracias! Been lazy lately. Pete Dorr (channel) has been giving a lot of speculative takes and given his channel size, he's been extremely influential lately. In my opinion, he's a lazy e-beggar but very sharp with his shot calls. Tune into 'ol petey.

Pokemon has always been a dynamic market. Super high demand meets super high supply (in all conditions, relatively speaking i.e. even sealed copies circulate very frequently compared to other games in sealed condition) combined with the periodic injection of IP hype (Pokemon Go, Detective Pikachu, remasters of retro pokemon generations i.e. heart gold souls silver, new pokemon games always coming out, youtubers repopularizing the trading card game). I can't think of a better example of a submarket of video game collecting that's in a bubble right now based on history with pokemon trends and feeling the upward spike rounding off and in a momentary plateau... I think prices across the board (all conditions) are about to tank by at least a third here shortly. The pokemon market has been an upward trending sine wave for 15 years now, where something in gaming culture sparks up huge demand and new records are reached, then they waver back down but never reaching previous lows... the average of the wave form is an upward slope and I think it'll continue that way for a few more years before the inevitable robot/AI apocalypse happens. Unless robots get into collecting video games.... Probably too intelligent for that.
