I have been using a sculpting tool for spreading texture paste lately. A bit harder to ruin than a brush as you can just wipe it off when you are done.

Great idea! Have you got the silicon ones? I had some come through the post the other week and have not tried them out yet :) I just use my old manky brushes until the very end haha

@@SwordsandBrushes I do have some silicone ones, but I just use the steel kind for this. It is like spreading crusty butter on very hard bread.

Very good tutorial. I could see the AK texture paste be substituted for Citadel's Stirling Mud (I have too many pots of that please send help) or a homemade thick texture paste thats been coloured brown but still thick enough to be shaped into the indents for the puddles.

Thanks very much! Always nice to do a quick one like this showing off a method. Yes i was going to get Stirling Mud as thats the one that i remember - then i saw the price for the amount you get and almost spat my coffee out my mouth! This is an excellent replacement and for the volume you get in the pot it's going to last a long time! :):)
