FUN in a Chrysler 300S HEMI V8 2016

I drove a 2016 Chrysler 300S at Texas Motor Speedway! It's more refined than the Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack, but they are almost identical in price. Which one would you take?

I have a 300 2016 but with the V6...If I had a hemi engine,the cops would be on my tail all the time. V6 is good enough for me. The car is very confortable,which is what I wanted at 67 years old. Bought the car new in 2016 and will keep it for another 5 years or so...love the look of my car.

I have been driving 40 years, and my Chrysler 300 is my very favorite car ever. I can't say enough good things about it - it's all that and then some. Black leather as far as the eye can see, gray metallic paint, AWD, everything that I love about a man-sized car. The Chrysler 300 may be the finest American made car below $50k. Any opinions from other actual owners? What's your favorite "thing" about your 300? I have been driving Japanese performance cars for years, but at age 55, this is the present and future for me.

I have a 2007 vanilla 300C Hemi Heritage edition which is still immaculate. i love the sound of the engine, the smooth ride & the classy exterior which is a real show stopper. Quintessential Americana.

Jeff Schueler I recently bought the 17 300 S with the 6 cylinder. The look of the car sold me. Coming out of a 14 Mustang GT I enjoy the ride and comforts this car has. Only wish it had more Power which it has plenty for what it is, but we also have a 17 Hellcat that once you drive you kinda get addicted. Maybe one day we'll supercharge it seen there getting over 425 hp going that route. But at 54 years old maybe it's time to slow it down a bit. Love the car drives as well as my 08 Caddy CTS did and kinda resembles that look.

I have a 2016 Chrysler 300 C Platinum AWD and it is the best car I have ever had. Everything works great - voice activation on radio, GPS, hands-free phone, and text, plus all the controls on the steering wheel. It has sports mode and paddle shifters. My car has the V6 it accelerates quickly with the 8-speed trans, plus gets great gas mileage. Around where I live I average 18 mpg and on a trip to 65mph I get 31 mpg. I just love it quiet with quiet glass and the sound system with 13 speakers it is awesome sound. The cruise system adjusts automatically with highway traffic is amazing. You need to drive this car to really appreciate its comfort and luxury!!!

I saved up enough to get myself a 2013 300C with the Hemi as my very first car. I changed a few LEDs here and then and now it looks even more sexy asf and with a nice new cold air intake it's even faster than when it started. Haven't regret anything about this car yet.

Not really huge ...Its smaller than a new Taurus !! Its powerful/quick and awesome handler ! 5.1 0-6 and 13.5 1/4 mile when tested by magazines,I got 4.8 0-60 and 13.18 1/4 mile and still had traction problems,the 8 speed really wakes it up !

The 300 has better room than a Taurus though and that's mainly due to how Ford Designed the interior, but I appreciate your enthusiastic replies about the performance of the S Hemi. It's especially nice because I bought a used 2013 a couple of months ago. The sport mode really livens the Hemi up too. I feel duped though because I feel like Fiat should've had the 8 speed with the hemi since the 2nd generation 300 debuted back in 2011. It's a business decision I don't understand because to my knowledge the 2nd Gen V6 has had the 8-speed since 2011. It took 4 years to make it to the V8.

01trsmar The Taurus is very small in the inside. It's tight as fuck, from the front to the back. The exterior may be a inch or two bigger but that's about it. The 300 is a "monstrosity" of a car. I've been in one. My mom actually had one for the weekend.

I purchased that new 300S in dark grey pearl. and got the 300 hp V6. it's is a blast to drive and I can only imagine what an extra 60 hp in the V8 HEMI would feel like. good mpg too in this v6. is your v8 your daily driver car to work? mine is, it's great every time.

It gets up and moves. It is about 6.5 seconds to 60 but its is a giant car to maneuver. Its is not quick, but fast- make any sense? same 0-60 as an older Civic Si. The Pentastar V6 is a great engine. Good option for the Hemi if you live in the city like I do.

I rather take the scat pack. Once Chrysler took the SRT package out of the 300 and put that jaguar rotary thingy for the gears, not cool. Scat pack with the 6.4 all day. Nice review

+Mr. Hitdat71 The thing is... these are now two very different cars. The 300S is more executive-friendly and the Charger R/T Scat Pack is American Muscle badass. I drove both on the same track and I agree with you. I'd choose the Scat Pack first because it's simply more car whereas the 300S is more luxury. I'd choose a 300S over a $35k Camry.

TheBjjones lol. The Mopar community is holding on to this model desperately. Some people don’t know the this chassis belonged to the old E class when Mercedes owned dodge and is long on the tooth. Dodge has done wonders to keep it up to date per say. Once they go to the fiat way it’s over for the muscle car king.

Why the hell would you not use the paddles keeping the HEMI up in its power curve. I would not use the normal Drive mode for track.

I don't agree with the paddles, but the Sport Mode 2 is night and day in the 300S Hemi. MY 2015 V8 is an animal in Sport Mode 2 but drives calm and collected in plain old "D".

I have the 300s with the hemi had flowmaster super 40s put on and was still a little quiet. Had them remove the resonators and wow. Sounds damn good. Sounds like it will s a hemi and not the six.

My 2015 300S V8 with all options EXCEPT Tech Package stickered at $45,550... you would be amazed at what a value that is for what you get them loaded up with. My advice, find one off a low mile lease for the low $30k's to Upper $20k's and save yourself the depreciation. Killer CPO value buy!

A loaded 300 Hemi is half the price of a loaded CT6, and you still don't get a V8 unless you get the CT6 vsport. Personally, I've driven the 300s Hemi and CT6 V6 (3.6l) and the 300s was my most recent purchase. The CT6 isn't awful, but it is awfully expensive. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXuYfXt9etyAosU

The Charger and 300 are both made by FCA. They are similar, yet different. The interior in the 300s is quieter and the power delivery and sound of the Charger is far more intoxicating. I sorta regret not trying harder to find a 2013-2014 AWD Hemi 300. The ones I did find were in the 40-50k mile range and were asking too much for em. The ones I found for great deals I didn't have the finances for at the time. I got a 2013 S RWD Hemi and I love it, but it's almost useless with the All Seasons in heavy snow. Wish I had 1,200 just lying around for snow tires and wheels. lol

The V8 will be practically useless in slippery weather conditions without the use of dedicated snow tires. If you're somewhere where you only get rain, then I would definitely choose the V8, but if you're in the Midwest, I would get AWD V6.

It has headers/full exhaust/cold air/170 stat & tune & a real nice set of wheels. It has a little over 500whp. I've always had a different array of mustangs. My latest build is a 800hp (without the nitrous) turbo 03 cobra
