Writing almost a decade later, I believe I’ve read somewhere that Nate Ruess very much was inspired by Queen especially on AAI pieces like the this song and the Gambler. It gets more obvious in “Some Nights” with the eponymous song as well as with “We are Young” and “Carry On.” I guess they just really like Baroque pop and Anthem Rock.

honestly, I don't like the fact that fun. has split up, and that Nate isnt making music anymore (that we know of). But it is for the better of them all. I'll admit, I haven't been a fan for a super long time, and only discovered this album about 2 years ago, but I appreciate it so much, every single song on aim and ignite means so much to me, and this will forever be one of my top albums of all time. In a perfect world, fun. comes back, even just to perform one final show, but I know that's a very low chance. Wish Nate, and the other members the best.

This song for some reason gives off so much nostalgia and innocence. Taking me back to when I was a baby my mom and I would pick flowers in the spring, make a leaf bundle around fall go to the petting zoo's look at the animal's. god I just love this song. I just started listening to this band, but when the piano in the beginning of this song, I could containing my beaming. It is so wonderful to hear newer bands playing the piano as a main instrument; unfortunately not a lot of bands do that anymore, it seems. I was standing around, watching everyone wind down for the night and I was hit with this deep heavy feeling of life being so real in that moment. I hadn’t felt that in years. My memory gets so foggy sometimes but in one thought I felt that everything would eventually be okay and real and that life is filled with emotions and the happy ones will always be there. Right after I had the need to listen to this song. I don’t listen to it that much, not as much as other fun songs but I feel like this song embodies my feelings right now. This song is so sad. I just had a dream about an old friend who I haven’t really talked to in a year and has strayed from the path of good for a while now and I want to be friends again and I want to help them but someone is keeping me from doing so because they get jealous easily and I put their needs before anyone else’s. Anyone in the dream I had I was with this “friend” and I started crying and hugged them and asked “Do you still love me?” And they said “I love you so so much”. I’m actually crying for rn while typing this but the reason this song is triggering sadness is because on a trip a year ago or more I was with the one person who keeps me from helping my other friend. We were three peas in a pod and the friend I want back showed me this song. I loved it and I still come back to it every so often to remember who he was.. sorry if this is confusing

I totally agree! One of the best parts about fun. is how different each of their songs sound. So if they used autotune, it was just purely for the effect of making the song sound different. Which I'm thankful, because it seems like I'm listening to the same song every time I turn on the radio, unless it's fun.

First, auto tuning doesn't make someone a sellout. Second, they didn't even use autotune, they used vocoder. It is an effect and doesn't actually change the pitch. Finally, I don't know what you're calling product placements. Unless of course you count the fact that several of Some Nights' songs use the words "some nights". But please, tell me what you are calling a product placement.
