Honestly, do not think I ever heard of FLC until hearing "Will I Be Ready" earlier tonight on WHRV's AltRadio Live playing out of Norfolk, Virginia. I am still not sure what I was hearing but, bits struck a cord in my memory... Jeff Healey's band and so I started search to find what it was AltRadio had just played! Friday the 13th was done and my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones needed to totally make my acoustic day! Make my day complete. Mark me as a new FLC fan!

А-ху-и-тель-но! Дико понравился этот лайв, притом что один из последних мной виденных - лайв в берлине - как раз наоборот произвёл довольно унылое впечатление. Здесь же всё просто прекрасно! Отличная публика (что за место, где это?) - все колбасятся, как и подобает на концертах с ТАКОЙ КАЙФОВОЙ музыкой, и парням, похоже, это дело приятнейшим образом аукается. Что-то понравилось больше, что-то меньше: например, Loco, на мой взгляд что-то уж слишком залатинили и приджазили - мне вот не очень. Зато на удивление прозвучала, скажем, Classic Fantastic, которая на альбоме как-то и не так чтобы очень. Очень неплохо пошла любимейшая и совершенно фантастическая Will I Be Ready, которая тут вдруг стараниями подлеца Фрэнки приобрела какой-то растаманский вайб - сначала показалось не очень, но по ходу дела весьма и весьма порадовало. Ну и т.д... В целом же, выходит, что несмотря на длительное отсутствие нового материала, и на довольно бледно смотрящиеся последние релизы, FLC так и остаются одной из самых впечатляющих банд ever - с кучей непотопляемых боевиков, с абсолютно уникальным музыкальным обликом - оно вроде и хип-хоп, да что-то никакой и не хип-хоп, потому что один сплошной блюз, рок, и вообще Huey весельчак почище любого панка. Плюс отличные мелодии, плюс отличная игра на гитарочке, плюс отличнейший вокал, плюс... Короче, одни сплошные плюсы, а минус только отсутствие новых песен, сопоставимых по забойности с прежними нетленками. С другой стороны, чудес на свете не бывает - сколько было отпущено свыше прекрасных мелодий для песен, столько, видимо, они и выдали, исчерпав запас полностью... В любом случае, отлично сыгранный и снятый лайв, и спасибо, что так запросто выложен на ютюбе!

Разделяю. Для меня интересные альбомы закончились на Welcome to Poppy's, но ребята круты и по сей день - честно играют и главное верят, в то что делают, в отличие от некоторых старых бэндов которые зарабатывают старой славой деньги без прежнего огня в глазах. Отдельно зауважал Хью за то как он поставил точку в концерте, с подводкой к Will I be ready. Как музыкант, дело которого развлекать он был, в общем, не обязан этого делать.

А для меня - на Loco. Дальше уже пошло, на мой взгляд, натужное высасывание из пальца с лишь отдельными офигенными вещами. Опять же, если говорить про эти редкие удачные песенки, то, как говорится, покажите мне пальцем КТО из команд сумел сделать что-то сопоставимое с Will I Be Ready, Rewind, Sick World или той же Too Hot?! А что он там молвил - перед Will I Be Ready - а то у меня инглишь на дошкольном уровне? Что-то по типу "жутковатые вещи в мире творятся и надо бы держаться друг за друга покрепче", кажется, или не так? Вот интересно, замахнутся они на новый альбом когда-либо, или всё - будет с них?

По сути об этом говорил да, что вокруг творится черт знает что и не надо думать, что мы там ничего не понимаем, и нужно сплотиться против этого. Концерт был в Нидерландах в июне 2016-го, где под боком Франция в которой за полгода до этого был теракт в парижском аэропорту и всего месяц спустя грузовика наехал на толпу в Ницце. Песня не об этом, про это Хью также говорил, но некоторые строки бьют в точку "Привет друг, осталось совсем немного и огонь придет в этот город и загонит нас под землю", "Дорога покрытая пеплом и обгоревшими ресницами детей" и так далее. Сравнивать FLC с кем-то достаточно бесперспективное занятие, думаю. У них уникальный стиль - там и классический хип-хоп со storytelling, фанк, гитарное звучание иногда тяготеет к серф-року, чикагский блюз - других таких разноплановых бэндов просто нет.
