Yes, the accent wall is an eye catcher and wonderful fun on it's own. Don't think it needs art work covering it. The play room looks like a great place for kids of all ages to hang out. The gangs art work display hanging is such a moving idea.

I don’t know if anyone commenting on how to make straight lines that won’t bleed….no amount of tape works…you have to paint the stripe white first. Set tape as normal for stripes. Paint white. Let it dry & then paint over white paint your color. No bleeds bc only white will bleed. Your pregnancy energy is astonishing!! You are fierce & beautiful makeovers !!

Kim, I just learned that you can put down the blue painters tape, then put a very small brush of your current color paint over it. Wait for it to dry and then paint your bright paint color over it. It makes a seal and no bleed through. Matte modge podge or a clear glaze might work as well :)

Love the striped wall, very funky and fun!! Painters tape is definitely a trip, no matter how you do it 😂 Every time I use it, I try a different approach, yet the results are usually the same: perfect in some places, wonky in others.

What a big job you took on. It looks like alot to do in a day and I know the planning and sourcing of materials took 10 times or a 100 times longer. It looks amazing!!! Love the striped wall.

There is a trick if you ever do an accent wall that requires taping off again…use the original paint color or a glaze against the tape and let that dry before painting your pattern and you will not have any bleeding!

I don’t shop at IKEA, but here’s an idea for them. It’d be great if they allowed shoppers to return the Allan wrenches for like a nickel a piece, allowing them to reuse them in future orders and shoppers don’t end up with baggies full of them.

in Ikea where you do returns, there is a place on the wall where you can drop those wrenches and extra screws, nuts etc, so they can recycle them

I guess I'm the only one that has to reuse those to tighten my stuff over time. It seems like I do that a lot but that is probably exaggerated. I do sometimes tape that particular wrench on the bottom of the piece, so I don't have to search forever for it.

@@teubank7357 taping them to the item would be handy, but if you’ve accrued dozens of them, that might be excessive. I have stuff that uses Allan wrenches (IKEA isn’t the only place), and I keep the few I have in my desk drawer that’s too thin to keep much of anything in.

Gorgeous!!!! I put the instructions and tools in a Ziploc bag and tape it to the back or bottom of IKEA furniture so I have it if I need to disassemble everything in the future. Also, the zebra wall looks perfect as is, but if you want to put a picture, put like 3 geometric black and white photos in a row. You're amazing. Truly.

My kids love the folding gym mats from IKEA. Multipurpose (used for slides, jumping, forts, seating, extra cots for sleepovers, etc) and stores easy
