Hello, I have a question that maybe you know the answer, its about the mt DNA, the men get Y-DNA from father is lineage, and mt DNA from mother is lineage, so one Y from father and one X from mother, the question is about the X from mother, this X is the genetics information only of my grand mother (mother of my mother) or it can be also genetics information of my grand grandmother mother of my grandfather(father of my mother) ?

There is a difference between MTDNA and the X chromosome. The X that you inherit from your mother may come from her maternal or paternal side. So yes, it will come from your grandmother and/or grandfather. MtDNA is different, it only comes down the maternal line. These two are often confused but they are totally different bits of DNA. I hope this helps :) Thanks for the comment!

Not Surprised with the Canadian results on full sequence particularly Atlantic Canada and Newfoundland as the immigration to these regions are very similar to Australia often one sibling would go to Australia and one would go to Atlantic Canada

That makes sense. I've actually seen that in my tree (on different lines). Thanks for watching :)

It's interesting to see your maps with such many pin markers. If I open my map with full mtDNA, I get there three pins. Yes, three. One in England and two in the USA. I'm wondering what kind of an alien am I, because I have only 25 full sequence matches and the ancestral origins point to England, Germany and Ireland. Although my earliest known maternal ancestor was born in Finland in 1715 like all later generations too. I have a theory: the vikings. They used to bring women from the British isles and maybe that has happened eg. 1000 years ago and then some of the later daughters has come to Finland before the beginning of the 18th century. That was not uncommon especially at the time when Finland was under the Swedish power. It lasted for 600 years until 1809.

My full sequence MtDNA has only 4 pins. I only have lots of pins when I switch to only HVR1 or HVR2. Do you have any exact matches? (matches with a genetic distance of 0)?

@@VanessaBland Yes I have 4. They all (who have given information) are from England or USA.
