I'm with you on the no Barbies! I grew up with them and loved them and played with them for hours...But I genuinely think they contributed to me just NOT knowing what a woman's body was actually supposed to look like. I thought a completely flat midsection was the norm and I didn't feel great about myself in comparison. Years later I realized how influenced I was by those dolls. My girls have been given one Barbie that I hope to phase out eventually when they aren't looking lol

I was never allowed Barbie , but was allowed Sindy .. is she still even a thing? . I have boys and they never wanted dolls so not an issue for me . X

We have a few character dolls but I’m thinking of getting Lottie dolls instead of Barbie’s! I always just played with baby dolls but my daughter asks for Barbie dolls often 😝

Oooo what are Lottie dolls?? My kids have Manhattan baby dolls and littlest pet shops and that's good enough for us haha! 😂

@@rachelsalcove they are sweet little dolls that actually look like a little girl and not Barbie! Their features are so cute too. Not perfect shaped eyebrows, no provocativeness. You should look them up! :)

Could you share more whether in a comment or a future video on why no Barbie’s. I have a son who is still young haha so no Barbie’s right now. But I used to play with them and loved them. I’m curious why you say no Barbie’s.

I was allowed to play with Barbies as a kid... But as an adult I recognize the harm they had on me as a child since they promoted unrealistic beauty standards. I also don't like the idea of having dolls that are shaped like a woman (unrealistically but still) where you are undressing them down to nothing and dressing them up again. Just seems odd to me.... But I also know plenty of Moms who don't feel that way! I don't think having a barbie is morally wrong. Just something I won't personally have in my home. My kids have Manhattan Toy Company dolls and Littlest Pet Shops which they LOVE! ❤️❤️
