2015 I bought 2 parakeets and a parotlet and a cocktielwhen I was on a meth induced psychosis and then I was put in a mental hospital and my mom told me on the phone that one of the parakeets was sick and it died. When I got out the parotlet was alive for some time and it was a spoiled brat wanting to eat everything so it got sick and died..... Today I still have that one parakeet, turned out to be a female and bought another one which happened to be male and they both like eachother and have sex

Dont buy from PetCO or Petsmart, you get sick, neglected, abused budgies. They are grown in bird farms, where they do very terrible things to them, like freeze the extra babbies alive. Just adopt a bird next time, its probably been treated better too.

someone send help- I try making my budgie eat other types of fruits & vegetables (Like Carrots, Strawberries & Egg) but BOTH of my budgies never eat any of them :( Anyone able to suggest something? plez my budgies are too cute i dont want them to die early ;( (if you can't help, thats fine, like the comment so it goes up on the list. so someone might be able to help :(

Fahim Ullah my 2 budgies only eat vegetables if I sprinkle seed on them so seed or pellet can attract them to it and make sure to chop up the veggies into small pieces

I make up a chop of various vegetables and a little fruit for sweetness, chopped finely or food processor (blender works too) so they can’t pick any out. Then I’ll mix it with seed and millet. I also like to make a mash with their vegetables by adding egg or a yam.

I have a question, though. Apparently when I was very small, we had 2 budgies and they actually started eating the paper we use to line their cage. Dad told me before that one of them died because his belly swelled and burst after drinking water along with the newspaper. Will that happen? The other bird was fine, we gave it to my cousin and he actually taught it to speak.

I play with Puff by mimicking her dance moves lol, I know I look stupid but she loves it. She also loves chewing card/paper so I'll just hold an empty toilet roll for her to shred. Mostly she just likes being with me, whatever I'm doing she has to get involved. She loves me so much that she cries when I leave for work so 3 weeks ago I got 2 baby budgie friends for her. They haven't met yet because the babies are still in quarentine but the babies are taming nicely. They step up, will happily sit on my finger or shoulder, sometimes I just sit on the floor and read while they play together. When they're young it's important to just let them get used to your presence and know that you're not a threat to them so even if you aren't directly interacting with them, it's a positive experience and they will know they can trust you.

My parents' friends left for vacation and left their budgie with us. Since my parents go to work and my siblings are attending day camps I am taking care of him every day, from 8am to 5pm. Budgie seems stressed all the time and he is really active when you take him out of the cage. Maybe it's because he's in a new place, idk, but when I saw this video I was shocked - a lot of interestingly toys and gadgets seemed so fun, but ,,mine" doesn't have any. I just found some big wooden ring and used a string to hang it in his cage. All he does is sitting and nervously looking around. I really want to buy him a new cage, some toys and all the cool stuff, because all he does is seating (most of the time), ,,yelling'', climbing walls, drinking and eating.
