Those waterfalls look so refreshing and fun to hike to !! We don't mind the heat as long as there is water nearby ! Thank you for sharing!

They're really nice, and the heat made them even more worth visiting! I think it was low-mid 90's F so it wasn't as crazy as it's been.

@@hikebytes Thanks! There are a lot when you follow tributaries upstream in certain parts of the San Gabriels. Some can be a bit over grown, but worth it!

This one Is really nice - one of my favorites in the area! There are a lot of great pools on the way too (I don't show many of them in the video). If you have the chance to check this spot out, it doesn't disappoint.

@@vicsol1000 Awesome! Cogswell dam is nice too, I've been down to the reservoir from above ~5-6 years ago. There is a trail around the gate when I've been from below but I'm confused about whether it's public or private. I went once along time ago when someone who worked at the said it was fine, but I've been confused about access.

Damn I gotta hit up the West Fork again. I went once but the River was way high. Didn't look smokey?

It's a great area! I didn't see any smoke, but I know Baldy is burning now, so if the wind switches up, I wouldn't be surprised if theres's some ash there in the near future.

I love to suffer lol, but yeah I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I was the only person on foot I saw past maybe ~2 miles out. It was pretty hot, but it made the pools that much more worth it! I've biked it before too, and it's much nicer.

are there coordinates? Neither of these areas are on alltrails and i would like to find more remote waterfalls in san gabriel
@nature_exploring3 ай бұрын
I don't have exact coordinates, but for Glen Canyon you just follow the tributary that flows into the campground. There's a fallen tree, but it's manageable to go around (I think the falls are ~0.3-0.5 miles from the camp area). Chileno canyon is visible on google maps when you look and it's just past the 6 mile marker. You have to go up a little further for that one, but there are some nice pools on the way. The nice thing about this area is that there are waterfalls up almost every canyon, and most of them are close to the trail/bike path. It's definitely worth checking out (especially in the spring). If you go now, just get there early because there are a bunch of people who come in the summer to cool off by the river, but they usually stay near the parking area so a lot of these spots are quite secluded.
