Fun ways to punish annoying moves (feat. MrPyroo)

Made this video to encourage all of you to make your own notes as well. You might hate a matchup today, but with some labbing, that same matchup could end up becoming your favorite.
Thanks to ‪@MrPyroo‬ for helping out with stuff I couldn't land, and bringing some nice ideas to the table.
Research was done with the help of FuryLima, Legit Haiku and Gray V.
Took some references for combos from RyzingSol, mwkan 7 and Trell Scales.

Dang as usual Great video and really informative too, I'll still have skill issue tho but at least with this I can "Theory Craft" something on the spot assuming it works lelz. I read the title is "fun ways to punish" Steve vs Asuka (2.3) i always do peekaboo (DF2) it's safely only (-10) & why you forget 😭 to add Claudio (F22) vs Steve Albatross (2) lazy punish, but that peekaboo (2) against xiaoyu dam! Oh yeah, PABdf2 is a safer punish, but MrPyroo and I wanted to illustrate how to work with pushback. Also we just had fun doing unnecessarily cool stuff for the sake of entertainment 😆

You can do a lot with the girls too. Lili can OS Paul's ff+2 mixups with Matterhorn. Against the just frame, ut won't come out at all but you'll launch the other 2.

@@friendlykoala Thanks for your kind words.. reaction time, defensive ability, punishing common moves, backdashing, punishing whiffs are no longer my problem. My problem now is punishing uncomon moves, patience, when to interrupt strings and what can be interrupted, where to side step and which moves can be stepped, and the last is dealing with characters with so many BS.. Ling, Lili, Asuka, Lei, Lee, Bob, Yoshi, Anna. They're my problems and always got me cheesed out 😂 Anyway, sorry for replying to much

Honestly, I like the general idea of the game. Making a game more aggressive sounds nice when knowing that the current "optimal Tekken" is basically blasting your wrist with clunky movement while barely pressing any buttons. I like ideas that try to make the game more fun to watch. But there are many things I don't enjoy for now. Mostly the character balancing and the visuals. I mean, to me the characters look like painted statues and dolls with wigs. There' s something about their faces, maybe they just enter my "uncanny valley". 😅 I'll have a more detailed opinion once I get my hands on the game tho!

Yoshi can also interrupt the majority of Geese's super long and annoying string paths on pure audio clues. Only doesn't work on one or two moves which will clip you for 10ish dmg with a far knockdown so no oki. Made my friend stop playing geese because it was making him so mad.

Off the top of my head, Devil Jin can sidewalk left Alisa's chainsaw mixups into df324. Kazuya can easily float and combo Zafina's tarantula stance with df14, you can just wait for your turn and get a free combo. About Nina... Honestly I feel like it's mostly about knowing how to duck the strings, the Ninas are basically cheesing themselves if they keep using them 😆

It's qcf1212, you can simply do the first three hits as a check, then confirm the last hit if you get a CH 😃

You need to block at least 2 lows to have a consistent 13f window, otherwise you'll often trade with the mid kick. Also depends on the characters' hurtbox and placement. I pulled my hair countless times trying to TP with Kazuya with that one so better accept it's only 12f lol

A lot of this is straight up wrong. Not accounting for other defensive options than blocking. It also doesn't seem to actknowledge pushback on block in tandem with max range.

I'm always willing to learn so I'll gladly listen to some details from you. Aside from the troll combo with King on Nina, I believe everything in this video is a guaranteed punish or OS. The max range thing is true with for example Steve conveniently placed right at Marduk's face, but I was simply going for the fun potential to have there.

@@friendlykoala Another thing that would've been very fititing in the video is that some characters can actually OS punish DJ's ws12/ws14 string after blocking the first hit by doing a bsb. It won't work with a mini backswing like kazuya's b1+2 but the bigger ones like dj's own b3 and dragunov's qcb2, or law's backswing will avoid (ws1)2 and whiff punish it. Haven't checked with feng's kenpo, if that one works it's kinda bs ngl. Edit: it doesn't, thankfully.

Bryan is definitely not Bear's worst MU, Anna, Kazuya, Miguel, Hwoarang and Zafina definitely worse. All of them get really broken buffs vs bears

Yeah, generally it's like WS launcher = -12 so I can understand... On one hand while playing Kazuya you can abuse it, on the other hand I'm often screaming at my screen when it's punished with jabs 😅
