My dad had a Diamond T wrecker in the motor pool that inadvertently saved he and his buddies one night when for unknown reason he parked it between them and the jungle, during the night a Jap sniper opened up on them but the Diamond T caught the majority of the rifle fire.

The Diamond T's from World War ll are all 4 Ton Trucks, the gas engines they had were from Hercules, but they were diesel starting in 1942 with Cummins.

The Diamond T's in the Army were both gas and diesel trucks. They had Hercules but then they started getting Cummins in 1942 during the war.The Military had a large amount of gas engines all up to 1967 if I remember right. The first Deuce & A Halfs were gas trucks originally, the first 5 Ton Trucks like the M51-M62 had gas engines too,and even the big M113 APC had gasoline engines before being powered by diesel later on.

Was it really a US military vehicle? Never saw anything like it with those rear axels until the Gama Goat in the 70's. At a certain speed it looks like the tires aren't turning. Strange , I've seen tires look like going backwards. Must be the rounded profile .

@@dodge666uwe You sound like a "head" that knows from experience that it will (like other substances) be absorbed through the skin. LSD in the 70's could not possibly flashback to October 2018. So there goes that theory. (I think) Interesting spin , but they really do look like they're standing still. Is there a definitive study on the longevity of flashbacks? That would explain alot , especially something that happened to me at the 3D multiplex last year. I need to stop staring at my lava lamp , particularly in view of the fact that the bulb burnt out a while ago.I can make it move under the right "circumstances" Thank God I still have my kaliedascope for those "odd" moments. Brownies , anyone? Check out the movie "Buffalo Soldiers" about G. I.' s in 1980's Germany with Joachim Phoenix ,Scott Glenn where they cook up some high grade Turkish shit and the fumes , well , you'll just have to see the movie. A must for any "dogface dopesmoker" (R. Lee Ermy 'Siege of Firebase Gloria's) who was stationed in Germany during the cold war.

An M211 ? I'm surprised it's not smaller. The M211 is 2.5t and the Diamond is 4t ... But I'm pretty sure it's something you already know ! Once again, great truck. The greatest as far as I'm concerned.

Robert Cowan, when you acquire the nessasary skills to get a 75 year old truck running and back on the road, you will be one step closer to being a simpleton. It's a long hard road but worth every minute and dollar put in when you get to do whatever you want with it at the end. Good luck. 👍
