Good stuff 👍 As an engineer, data matters to me. I'd love to see controlled testing data (FPS) of "SDXL" vs "SD + MLL 12g adapter." Understanding that the SDXL has an extended barrel of approx 0.75in. This longer barrel allows longer pressure exposure applied to projectile with minimal blow by. It's going to be time dependent up to its terminal velocity.

@Mercy Less Lethal 603 I've purchased three SDs directly from Byrna. They all arrived with the velocity screws at different settings. The Hi-Viz came completely maxed out, the gray was 5 out and the pink was like 7 turns out... I stopped counting because I started thinking it might be broken.. Not sure what that was all about. There are only 7.5 turns of adjustment in total- about 25fps at 63⁰. You probably already checked the screws- but in the interest of data and maybe for others, who receive one at 7 turns out, I thought I'd mention it..

@@JohnWixon FWIW: I have SDXL (with actual metal barrel extended) and my screw came maxed out to the right. I do not have chronograph though to measure anything.

@@mercylesslethal6039 That would be awesome. I have yet to come across anyone actually comparing the "XL" models to your 12g adapter. With both of them using a 12g co2, the only diff would be metal barrel length. I would like to see if the longer metal barrel makes a difference in the "XL" models.

@@stephene3179it may! If you check out my other video comparing our adapter to the Byrna Boost I have a compensator with a muzzle break on it and that one was about 15fps higher than the other one on average. So the length definitely makes a difference.

@@yakrider6402 honestly both lol, they serve different purposes. The lighter ones for longer distance and the heavier ones for shorter distance.

@@YerBrwnDogAteMyRabit they are similar size to a Byrna SD if you’ve held one of them. It’s not easy to conceal but it’s the smallest as far as less lethal launchers are concerned.

I would have to disagree with you regarding to the build quality. Byrna's booster is made of aluminum and not some plastic from a 3D printer. Also, the mounting for the booster on the Byrna is far more superior it's held in place by four screws and does not move once installed and gives the launcher 19MM more length. Which gives 3% more muzzle voracity. Now as for the laser lights and flashlights on the Picatinny rails with the Mercy Less Lethal that I do agree with. I don't use lasers or flashlights on my Byrna SDXL its bulky enough without adding gadgets to it.

Did you change the barrel to be able to use the Grimburg 8 gram projectiles or is that the stock barrel?

The sights on the orange one, are they stock? I have the LE and I want to replace the sights but I'd either have to grind off the original or replace the whole top(would be slide) and byrna doesn't sell parts like a replacement top piece to swap out with better sights. Is mercy coming out with a fix to this problem?

Good...I've got my Byrna SD, though i wish i had your Hi Viz sights!.... now it's time to Rock it out! What can you paint it with that would last, because they only had Orange local? (Literally the lady standing infront of me at the display case purchased the last Black SD!) Love the look/placement of your compensator versus byrna 👏 However it's probably going to be awhile before we've got a holster for it and it's not increasing the velocity like was hoped... so I think I'll stick with the 12g adapter/quick cap since I know that will fit in a shadow defensive offering with an Olight 😉😎

We use all of them but we are a dealer with Olight so that is what we use most

Surefires are very nice and reliable lights, but olight is much budget friendly and but still has great quality.

Cause I noticed on the Hi-Viz its just a new plate that houses the fancy sights. Cause that's an issue I have with the byrna pistols is their really basic sights.
