He kept commenting about SD and LE being the same except one takes the 8 gram CO2 and the other takes 12 gram CO2. Wrong. The SD version fires at 280 fps for 10 joules. The LE has a different valve in it allowing it to fire at 330 fps for 16 joules. They look alike externally but are very different guns. He also said the eco rounds were just practice powder balls. They are not. They are for practice but they are kinetic rounds that are biodegradable. Shoot someone with that thinking it's powder and you can hurt them pretty bad. He also said these things can put someone down. Nope. They are a last resort option that inflicts pain as a deterrent. the way he was talking about it sounds like he's going to strap one on and go looking for trouble. Bad idea. I just ordered the Byrna LE a couple days ago and it will be my first. Before ordering it, I've spent a couple months learning everything I can about them. The information is out there for everyone to see. Watch the videos and read the reveiws and testimonials. This guy got this knowing nothing about it (or about firearms for that matter) and does a video to teach others. Not cool.

I appreciate the detailed information. Especially the minimal difference in amount of balls shot with the 12 vs 8 gram canisters.
@Joreel Жыл бұрын
It's the first 10-15 shots where you'll get the most power, after which each shot drops a bit on stopping strength. The only real difference with the adapter is the extra 10ish shots and the 5-8 fps boost. If you can't stop someone with the first 10-15 shots, you're not gonna be helped by that adapter. The Byrna fires the Kinetic rounds at 200+ mph.
@dgriffin6074 Жыл бұрын
The Eco-Kinetic rounds are biodegradable BUT are moisture sensitive and should be kept in a non humid environment. I save the small perforated dessicant cylinders that often come in medicine bottles and keep them with my Byrna ammo especially the Eco rounds.

I bought 5 of these before I decided to stop fooling myself. The only thing Byrna has over the "less lethal" field is that its "smaller" and it "looks the best". I don't regret the byrna purchases because I consider Byrna a gateway to better things like the FSC and VKS. The byrna maxes out at 11-12 joules shooting 2g kinetic projectiles. For the same $$$ you can get a FSC or TCP that hits 3x harder out of the box. Not only that, but the FSC and TCP can be modified to hit even harder whereas the Byrna can't be modified. 12 joules is the most you can get out of the Byrna, if you're lucky. on average you're only going to get 10-11 joules. You have to be honest with yourself and put yourself on the other side of the equation. Yes getting shot with the Byrna is going to hurt alot. However, imagine someone had your wife and kids and all they had was a byrna in their hand. Is that byrna stopping you from saving your wife and kids? I dont think so. Another way to look at it. Imagine I have a byrna and $1 milliion behind me and all you had to do was get past me and my byrna. Is that byrna stopping you from getting to your $1 million? I dont think so. I will gladly take shots from a byrna for $1 million. I dont think I do the same with a FSC or TCP or VKS. Just an honest review. Again, I bought 5 byrnas before I lerned about the other "less lethal" options out there. Byrna has the best marketing and is able to sell their gimmick better than anyone else, but the numbers don't lie. The Byrna is not going to stop a 6 foot 200 pound man from doing what he wants to do if he really wants to. Look into the FSC, TCP and VKS for a more effective option to defend the home.

The trap gets better once it's been open a bit I found. When you opened yours, I was thinking "Don't open it!" as it's a pain to refold. I've had Byrna for a few months now and I've loved them. What do you think of your Byrna now that you've had it for a while. Did you find the holster to be comfortable when you're wearing it out and about? The Kinetic rounds are fired at 200+ mph. You can take the BSIS Chemical Agent Certification exam here in California and once you pass it, yeah you can buy the Pepperball rounds. Byrna is very clear that you should always know your state and local laws and as it turns out, the use of Pepperballs in California can get you in trouble if you use them in public if the Pepperball dust gets on innocent bystanders. Then you will be charged with the Assault with a Chemical Weapon which is a Felony. They also recommended not using them in your home because the powder is almost impossible to get out of porous surfaces and fabrics like your carpet and couches.The residue can last for months on those surfaces.

For "less-lethal" pepperball VKS and/fsc are the only way to go if you are seriously thinking about buying something like this. in the less-lethal/self defense community, Byrna is THE WORST OF THE WORSE!! byrna is clowned and avoided at all cost! It's over price junk. My custom built VKS ( be Dan sterling @sterling self defense) can be turned way up, or way down... its a 1 to 1 of an AR. My vks has all custom internals,.parts, and power mods. It is shooting 603 fps 135 joules with a .68 caliber Z ram 8.5 gram stainless steel slug. Now this is a legit firearm when it's turned up that high! It can can even higher and handle the power because the Bolt, valve and springs inside are all upgraded. I keep it around 400 fps 60 to 65 joules. If you need something compact... the ONLY choice should be an FSC. There are mods and upgrades to actually put a VKS bolt into an fsc. A upgrade block and valve need to be added, but they can shoot into the 600 fps range too! They are insanely upgradable and can't be beat. They are pricey, but ask what yourself... what is your safety and protection WORTH? these Byrnas are ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.
@danieljamesbinderystu2968 Жыл бұрын
@randyalvarado6401 yup, you got it!... BUT, my vks is hitting well over 100 joules. The vks he built me have ALL his new mods and upgrades that he has been working on. Plus, the 20+ joules mod, and I had him make me a custom 2 barrel... his "vks one barrel" that he just released recently. Everyone is trying to get him to make barrels 24/7. lol 😆 he is absolutely SLAMMED. he needs help and a vacation, lol. But the barrel is a 9" with another 6 inch extension that I can put a free insert in... so the front of the barrel is choked. It also has a quick connect power suppressor on it. It was shooting 105, 110 in the video. You know his work. He is the only person I wanted to make my VKS monster. I have a bad neighborhood a mile down the road that cops won't even enter. One way in and out and their in a ton of pimps amd dealers. They blast around on stolen quads and dirtbikes armed with ooooozies and full auto equipment. They also wear real body armor. They have been stealing my stuff because I had my home newly rebuilt from the tornado that demolished my home and my buisness building that sat at the back of my 2-acre property. My business building is finished yet, so I have a lot of expensive stuff in temp storage trailers. It's like a HUGE MAGNET for these young knucklehead thugs that take what they want, when they want... out on no call bail 80 times in 5 years. They are protected by the crooked NJ leftist tyrannical dems. I have real firearms, but the tyrannical NJ dems have made it impossible to protect yourself, any property, or your family if you are a law-abiding citizen. We get punished BEYOND AND FARRRR ABOVE the bar. So I got with Dan, and we went back and forth on the phone many times to build this VKS monster. DAN TOLD ME IT CAN GO EVEN HIGHER, but I am afraid I'll break my beauty, with my luck... I got nailed by an f3-4 tornado living in South Jersey... That's my type of luck, lol 😆 😂 🤣. But yeah, I do agree that a byrna is a last resort to run away with. I've just seen way too many people having BAD stories with their experience with Byrnas. They seem to never work when the proverbial ish hits the fan. And it ends up making the dangerous situation even worse!
@danieljamesbinderystu2968 Жыл бұрын
@randyalvarado6401 Yeah, I definitely ALWAYS have that at the back of my mind, as it pertains to the INSANE tyrannical laws that NJ leftist authoritarian dems make. They have been losing in federal courts 5 times in the past month or so. I know what type of power 100+ joules is. I own firearms and INSANELY powerful BIG BORE PCP RIFFLES. Most of my pcp's are FX, AEA, EVANIX, Umarex, Hatsan, etc etc... and they are all mostly .30 caliber to .50 caliber. I even have the AEA Zeus that us a .73 cal. My pcp's are also worked up.... most of them are pushing 250 grain to 550 grain solid pead SLUGS faster and harder than my powder burners. Like I said before, I don't keep my VKS up that high. The ONLY reason I wanted something that is that powerful, is because the knucklehead young thugs down the road ride around of dirtbikes and quads, they all wear bull*t-proof vest and real body armor, and are equipped with HEAVY "EQUIPMENT"! There isn't a sign on my road that ISNT SWISS cheesed up! They fly around on those quads extremely fast. So I wanted something that could be turned up because I didn't want to get close to them. They are on fast quads... so I need something that can hit them at a longer ranger and fast moving... and they all have body armor on. So that's why I needed something POWERFUL. I completely get how you feel some type of way, with your experience with DAN. I would be upset, too!!! But all I can do is talk about my experience with him, I can't speak on others' behalf. I don't know why our experiences are vastly different. All I can do is guess and assume... but I don't do that. I do know, however, as a business owner myself that sometimes I must prioritize jobs based on my customers that are paying a lot for much bigger jobs. Sometimes, if I get a job that I can't pass up, I must push the smaller ones to the side. BUT, I always do eventually get to them and get them done as quickly as possible! I WOULD make a barrel for you, but I am still fighting with my insurance company to pay up and replace ALL my machinery and metal working equipment, mills, lathes, etc etc... I know how to make my barrels and other things that "attach" to them, lol, but I lost all that equipment in the tornado. I ve made barrels to powder burners, pcp's, pellet, and BB-guns, my sons airsoft-guns. Sorry I can't help you out with your request. If your barrel has threads on the end? Why don't you just screw on a thread protector? I thread every barrel, or HAVE all my barrels on EVERYTHING threaded... even if I am not planning on doing anything with it, I think barrels look much better with a simple thread protector screwed on, rather than a plain unthreaded barrel. But it's what you want and should have been done the way you wanted it.

@@danieljamesbinderystu2968 100 joules is lethal force. Unless you're confronted with a knife or a gun, using that much force goes beyond the protections of self-defense. Do you think you'll enjoy prison?
@danieljamesbinderystu2968 Жыл бұрын
@johnpauljones9310 just because my vks can shoot 100 joules and even higher... doesn't mean that I keep it up that high, now does it? No, no, I do not keep it up that high. I have many powder burners for sealing with anyone who enters my home. I wanted that much power because of my situation and circumstances. Whether you feel that it is necessary or not, it is actually quite smug odlf you as well... besides assuming I keep it up that high. I had it built to these standards because there is an EXTREMELY BAD neighborhood about a mile down the road... it has one way in and out of it... and cops are afraid to even enter it when they are actually around. Thanks to the whacked and crooked, leftist NJ dem tyrants... most local police forces were completely defund and closed down. I haven't seen a cop in my neighborhood in 3 years now... because all the small towns were shut down, and now they have larger cities patrolling up to 20 towns at once. So when you call them because of an emergency... they don't even show up at all. So ultimately, it's on you to protect your family at all cost... not that I ever relied on anyone else for that anyway. But there are a lot of drugs, crime, and robbery in that neighborhood a mile down the road... they terrorize all of us in the surrounding neighborhoods. Blasting around on quads and dirtbikes that they steal ( they stole one of my sons quads ), selling drugs, and being straight thieves and thugs. They are fully armed to the teeth with anything and everything they want, even of the "full-auto" kind. They literally have Swiss cheeseed up all the signs in our neighborhoods, and you literally hear them busting off rounds all night. Shots ring out at each other, and God knows what else. They ALSO WEAR REAL BODY ARMOR... VESTS, JACKETS, AND THEY HAVE HELMETS ON when they ride up in your yard to steal stuff. They are on fast as hell quads and move extremely fast and are hard to defend yourself from. I had a T3-4 tornado just destroy my home and my separate business building that sat at the back of my 2-acre property on sep 1st, 2021. My house was rebuilt completely new. It just moved back in 6 months ago... but I've had to fight with my insurance company to cover almost everything I lost in my business building, all my machinery, equipment, tools, inventory and even the building it's self! so it is not done yet, and I had to buy those temporary storage containers that get dropped off on flatbeds... to accommodate e a ton of EXSPENSIVE stuff I don't have room for, SINCE my buisness building is not finished yet. Needless to say, the vultures don't give a flying Fu*k that I literally just gad to go through the disaster and had to endure that... no, they do what scumb*gs do and try to take advantage of you when you are at you. MOST VULNERABLE! They stole my sons quads and a bunch of my stuff already... they cut the locks off and TAKE and STEAL everything they want. And since these pr*cks are armed to the teeth with full auto "equipment" and wear REAL body armor .. AND move extremely fast because of the racing quads they blast around on... This IS exactly why I wanted something that robust enough to defend myself outside of my home... so I don't go to prison, but at least have the means to even the playing field a little bit, and dont have to resort to taking my powder burners OUTSIDE the walls of my home.You know what's worse than prison? Death... iam no good that way either. That's why I had this built, because MY SITUATION isn't yours. You may not need something that strong... but I do. They made their choice to be CRIMINALS, thugs, and scumb*gs... so I made my choice. Have a good one
