Broilers (fryers) are young chickens, usually 8 weeks of age or younger, produced for meat. Layers are female birds that produce eggs for human consumption. Breeders produce fertile eggs to be hatched. The broilers that are shown are meat birds. Therefore, after the show they may be processed for human consumption. what do you do with the broilers after you show them? What is the difference between a broiler and other types of birds?
