You guys do a very neat, clean and respectful process of grave digging. Where I’m from in south Texas the funeral home digs the grave and piles the dirt up next to the grave and cover it with green outdoor carpet. It’s not too bad but, you guys go way above and beyond to present a very respectful setting for their funeral.

In 2001 when my uncle passed away in a super small town, when we got to the gravesite, they were still digging the hole. Obviously I know it had to happen but it was so devastating to see it actually happening. I chalked it up to small town, really rudimentary cemetery, but I don’t think that memory will ever leave me.
@wayner806Ай бұрын
@@alamryfarms754 I can understand your point of view. I heard a story from years ago in rural areas that the neighbors always dug the grave for the one who had died. There was always trouble getting enough guys to dig, so they agreed to meet the day of the funeral and as they started digging, they hit a bunch of rock and encountered much more trouble (and time) getting it dug. They were worried the procession was going to arrive before they finished.

We have an E55 at work has been very good, however, as I know you guys do, maintenance and make sure you change the fuel/water seperator filter at least once a year and make sure you don't accidentally get any water in your fuel. The one problem we had was the introduction of water into our fuel by an old transfer tank we used to fill the machine up. That cost several grand in repairs to the fuel system these systems are hyper touchy on these BobCat machines, probably no less than what your possibly used to, but I thought I'd pass that along.

I appraised crops for years. Often place in field gets 1/3 best area. Even poor year there are small areas that yield ok. Late 90s I called into Linder Farm network “what’s your yield from your combine”. I said “I hear people I can see their combine from mine. I know they are saying 190 bu/acre. But my field is only going 140 bu acre average at most. I doubt best areas hit 180”. The number of people who talked to me about that. How I did not understand its bragging rights. My car MPG can go over 40mpg for few miles. Mid 30 mpg for hours on interstate. But mixed driving is 25-26mpg. That’s it’s real mpg.

It's one thing to have designated plot land for crop testing - I'm so glad our company asks to use areas that the farmers are comfortable with and we don't change the agreement or locations, regardless of wet, dry, deer, turkey, etc. Every farmer has wet spots, dry spots, critters... we want to see how our varieties of corn and soybeans actually function at the farmer level vs. the competition! That's the point of those feild walks - not just best data on a sheet. That's messing around, not actually looking at a famers field to help other farmers! So wrong, I'm sorry that was your experience, DC. Thank you for putting up with it as long as you did.

The entire premise of getting an average is choosing from different areas, looking for insect damage and fungi issues, and the perfect stalks. Every fsrm has these issues. Trust me, I've flown in balloons over nearly every farm in the county. They all are beautiful, but, even from the air, you can see empty patches, wet, and perfect. I've had to go into fields looking for the baggies the pilot pitches out, then measure from where they were aiming for. You get permission, gently move the leaves out of the way, find the baggy and find your way back out. All while working for the government that helped farmers. This was at the beginning of schools for farming, using computers, etc. Out of 5,000 farms, only one went to school, and he was the only one using a computer. He also was the only one showing consistent income. He held a meeting, explaining what he learned in college, and the computer program he was using. It took awhile, but a handful of farmers sent their kids to ISU. They too learned about the computer programs, being easier to use all the time, and free tutorials on new programs or updates. This was 20 years before cell phones and very few people had computers. I didn't have one at work! 😊❤ It's wonderful to see a family farm, working together, having income besides the farm, though it comes first. We saw Cole get his averages. He did a great job explaining everything. You did great with your family Daddy Cornstar.😊❤
