Nice walk between Lido & close to the port. Lovely to see Savoy Gardens again. Only downside (IMHO) is focussing on Savoy Palace carbuncle which looks like a giant alien spaceship from ‘Independence Day’ has landed in this beautiful city. Glad you (briefly) mentioned Cliff Bay which I think is the best hotel on the island and the Avista restaurant is just outstanding.

Morning Richard, glad you enjoyed the walk (mainly;) The Savoy palace being likened to a giant alien spaceship... ha, I do rather see your point. I agree that the Cliff Bay and also the Porto Mare are our favourites too. Incidentally I have a walk to add soon around the Porto Mare Hotel gardens, which you'd maybe like? I only had a drink in the Avista restaurant bar but I liked it very much. We'll be returning in December, so I hope to bring you more. Next time perhaps even without so much focus on the giant alien spaceship!! All the best to you and thanks for dropping by.

I cant believe i missed that part of the hotel...i was waking on Infante Road and took picture of the facade but i missed the most beautiful part!! thank you for showing it to me...by the way, will you have the video that continue on road at the end of the video? I am now intrigue to see the continuation of that street.

Good morning to you Kooza, well how funny, it's often the way isn't it. Many a time we've walked the 'wrong way' home and found a completely new area. We'll be back again in a couple of weeks so I'll be filming more streets in Funchal, but the one I finished at here sort of fizzled out, so maybe not quite as interesting as you hoped.
