Hi, in the end of the video you said that there are 4 types of questions Email, Report, Web Forum and Article. I was studying from the level 2 English functional skills and in the book the types of questions were Email, letter, articles, reports and leaflets. However there wasn’t anything about web forum, so can i please know all the types of questions that i can possibly expect to come in the exam? Thank you

You credit me with more knowledge than I possess. Only the examiners truly know what will be set, which is why you should prepare writing styles from all corners of the matrix.

Got my exam in July 😖 reading and writing on the same day! I’m confident in the reading, but the writing is scaring me lol.. I know I’m gunna run out of time, I’ll not know what to write! It’s the thinking of ideas and writing them down. My own initiative sucks 😅
@oaktreeenglish83387 ай бұрын
The reading is usually much trickier than the writing, so if you've got the reading sewn up, your writing should be fine too. I have videos specifically on planning for your writing task, so work through the process there and remember, inspiration can come from anywhere! Good luck

Plant in Pot, I'm way ahead of you. If you look at my video on language features which I called CLIP notes you will find that the section on Language includes emotive language and I include examples from classic English literature. Let me know if that helps.

Oh dear, I've just checked and I omitted emotive language. What a travesty! What an overwhelmingly catastrophic oversight. I am a slug among men. My shame knows no bounds. (All of this is an example of emotive language. I hope you can feel it)

FANBOYS is an acronym for the coordinating conjunctions: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So. These conjunctions are used to connect words, phrases, or clauses of equal importance. When you use FANBOYS to join two independent clauses, you create a compound sentence. An independent clause is a complete thought with a subject and a verb. How to Create Compound Sentences with FANBOYS Write two independent clauses. Place a comma (,) before the coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) that connects them. Examples of Compound Sentences: For: I didn’t bring an umbrella, for I thought it wouldn’t rain. And: She enjoys reading, and she loves writing poetry. Nor: He doesn’t like coffee, nor does he drink tea. But: I wanted to go for a walk, but it started raining. Or: You can have tea, or you can have coffee. Yet: He studied hard, yet he didn’t pass the exam. So: I was hungry, so I made a sandwich. Quick Tips: Always use a comma before FANBOYS when joining two independent clauses. If the parts being joined are not full sentences, you don’t need a comma: She enjoys reading and writing.

@oaktreeenglish83388 ай бұрын
@@jinaria2671 In my planning video I describe a matrix of formal tone and personal style, you will typically be set tasks from opposite quadrants of that matrix. You will normally be given a clue towards the audience of your writing, such as teen magazine readers or formal letter to your MP. Those clues are a crucial indicator of the tone and style you should be using. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZralIhnirKfpcU
