Elvis was once asked "what do think of people calling you "The King"?" Elvis replied, "I'm not the king, Jesus is King!" I think that was the best comment in any interview ever.

Hi. I think this is very helpful and practical. I think that I can do well in my Speaking & Listening Communication for English (Level 2). I'm feeling more confident, focused and be brave to ask questions. (Task 1) - (Presentation) (4-5 mins) (Task 2) - (Formal Discussion) (15 mins)

Will topics for group discussion given by examiner? Or I can bring a topic chosen by me and discuss on the topic of my choice?
@oaktreeenglish8338 Жыл бұрын
Good question, Normally this is something that will be agreed with your group prior to the exam. You should have certain points to make but don't be too rigid on your position. The aim is to have a free flowing, respectful discussion where everyone's voice is heard.

Can you tell me for how long you have to talk for the discussion.
@oaktreeenglish833829 күн бұрын
10 minutes at L1, 15m at L2, depending on numbers of students in your group
@ZeroSkar-ml7pk29 күн бұрын
@@oaktreeenglish8338 but how long each person have to talk for example if there is a group of 3 people? You just divide 10 min in to 3 right?
@oaktreeenglish833828 күн бұрын
@ZeroSkar-ml7pk This is not a profitable direction of thought. Don't break it down like that, just resolve to speak and pass the discussion around the group, engaging and allowing it to reroute itself organically. This prescriptive way of thinking will distract you from the very thing that is being tested. Just go in and enjoy having a conversation.

I was given social media as a topic to discuss. As much as I can see the obvious benefits for social media I chose to talk negatively about it because of my own experiences using Facebook for example. Fantastic video, hope to see lots more on it way and it also reminded me of the talking head on art attack a little bit.

Thanks Taylor, I don't claim to be in the same league, or possibly even sport, as Art Attack, but I must say I enjoyed weaving in some Socrates, Plato and Aristotle quotes into the script. Hope it helps

Great video thank you for help us, Perfect time I have a group discussion about” should euthanasia be legalised in Britain? Plus I have to choose a topic for a short talk 🤔I don’t know what to pick ☺️
@oaktreeenglish83382 жыл бұрын
You are welcome. Remember, it doesn't matter which side of the debate you come down on, so long as you give a good justification for your position. In your short talk, pick something you know about such as a job or life experience. Do a little research and you can talk about anything. You could talk about a book you read, or a favourite author or artist (C.S. Lewis would be my choice). Whatever you pick, make sure you are interested in what you are saying so that you can engage the audience and also know enough to answer questions.

They definitely sound like that in my head, though Aristotle's voice may owe more to Horrible Histories than "Metaphysics".
