An internationally renowned icon of corrective and high-performance exercise kinesiology, just one conversation with Paul Chek, founder of the CHEK Institute, is never enough. A previous guest on the Escape Your Limits podcast, Paul returns to offer more insight into strength, spirit and our place in the universe.
This episode will challenge your beliefs while helping you to embrace others that you didn’t even realise you had. Paul’s full mind, body and soul approach to fitness and wellbeing is enlightening and inspirational, and we’re lucky to get a second bite of the apple.

Paul takes you in a circle, tells you all the different ways you've played yourself in your lifetime, then brings you back to a potentially happy ending telling you "it's going to be alright but you'll have to work for it". What a rollercoaster lol.

That is a very good quote, and I have studied his works...BUT.....most do not truly understand these words because they read the word "nothing" to mean "the absence of", when in fact, it means "NO - Thing"; the typical interpretation leaves one believing that wisdom tells you that you are "insignificant", but the deeper truth is that Wisdom tells us that we are "Not a thing - not an object"; to be "No - Thing" means to be so expansive as to be one with All that IS. Consciousness itself is "NO THING", and because of that, Consciousness is "Every-Thing". Love and chi, Paul Chek

@@PaulChekLive Yes, exactly. I am not sure if he was thinking or speaking in Sanskrit, Pali, some other dialect, or perhaps Hindi, but this is translation of his words. I do know that in Pali, "sunnata," what we call "emptiness" or "non-self" actually means nothing and everything all in the same moment. It's a difficult concept for us Westerners to grasp but a useful one. Thanks for the comment.

Example of what I said in previous post: 1:07:33 This is exactly where I am in my life right now at almost 25 having been through all the BS parties and buying up stuff that's enjoyable for a moment but fizzles out quickly. Just want to simplify, remove the clutter, and focus on the real things that give life some juice like contributing, helping others, nourishing relationships, being better at your craft, developing your mind, and seeing how much of your true potential you can fulfill.

4 stages of development 1. Child: We're born and as a child we are dependent on others to navigate life Example: collecting welfare from the government because of laziness 2. Warrior: the rebellion against authority and desire to discover our needs and forge our path 3. King/Queen: in the pinnacle of one's success, making complex decisions and lots of responsibility 4. Wise man/Wise woman: a reflective stage of one's own life enabling compassionate understanding of self and others. Seeing the beauty in the game of life by being true to ourselves by getting to know who we really are. Much love 🙏

Paul is blowing my mind. These are conclusions I have come to think on my own, which makes me believe in collective dreams and consciousness more and more. I just haven't managed to bring it all together in an effective and CONSISTANT manner yet. There is my struggle, but I acknowledge that every action towards my goals makes it easier to achieve them and to shrug off the weight of doubt, as I go. Momentum must be built, and it becomes easier with focused maintenence of that momentum.

He's one of my few mentors who I've studied consistently for a long time, probably 5+ yrs now and even though I don't practice all of his teachings I recognize how much study and application has gone on in his journey and I take a lot of inspiration from it and try to apply certain things that pertain to my certain stage of my own personal evolution. Thanks for conducting a great interview!

The initiation rites, yeah... I only went to the army and ten years after lived almost a year in city woods while holding a dayjob, which felt often more rough than the army because you had "no backup" in case someone would come after you the wrong way. Not that I had many situations like that, but... the feeling of unsafety itself, when it keeps being there and you can't really do much about it, can be poisonous to your psyche. And I've always been a sensitive guy on top of all that. Be careful what you get used to, though. I got too used to spending time with a person who I connected with, and when they said it's time for me to move on, I was quite... devastated, really. One thing Paul once said, is that "relationships are very important" and I think by saying that he ment relationships with other people. None of that would had probably broken my psyche too bad, if there wasn't that older stuff in my psyche I hadn't faced at that time. I faced that internally to a great extent though, and that helped me overcome my schizophrenia attack, or well, anxiety attack really, as I had learned to deal and live with the voices good while ago before that. Honesty. Feeling of safety. Heartfelt connections with other beings. Tacking the root cause with all three above factors. That's all I needed. Rites of passage like that can be great, but it's in my opinion important to remember how to recover from them too. Because those rites of passages ARE things that break us to a great extent, just like lifting weights breaks our muscle cells and sometimes other cells too. We grow in strength by first breaking ourselves AND THEN regenerating back to a stronger state than what we used to have. So if you consider doing a rite of passage like that, remember to figure out how to regenerate from both mental / psychological / emotional stress too, in addition to regenerating from the physical stress.

We don't believe in a hell. I am not saying their is no consequence for doing specific things (sins) but If you truly learned about the religion from a Chassidic Jew who can explain the true meaning and explanation of the religion I truly think you would be surprised about what you learn. HI, one of the problems is that Judaism suffers the same fracturing that Christianity does; the old testament of the Bible is essentially Judaism, thus it is referred to as Judaeo-Christian. I've worked with countless in the Jewish faith of various forms, and at large, they all suffer from the same kinds of inner-challenges from similar beliefs as Christians. It is also important to realize that my comments are NOT directed toward the mystics of any religion, but the CORPORATE versions of the religions. I've studied all the world religions quite a lot, and none of them come without booby traps of their own. They are all tools for "building a mind" and ultimately offer the opportunity to transcend programming, which is essentially what most all the mystics of each religion exemplify. Love and chi, Paul Chek
