Father, thank you for such an in depth and thorough argument against the errors about the Holy Mass. What a blessing for me to hear this morning! God bless you both.

7:19 Actually the Lutherans kept the Mass, but it was very distorted. In many places this distorted form survive until the 19th century. See or rather hear the music of the masses of Bach. Of course, it was not seen as a sacrifice. In England the mass also died out. The mass-like ceremonies that we can see in some high Anglican churches today were only a result of the Oxford revival which occurred in the 1830's. For more information, see the life of St. John Newman. He was an early promulgator of this idea until he went over to Rome.

There were indeed late medieval errors (in political and philosophical areas, like nominalism for exemple). But the protestants came from these problems.

How did John Henry Newman become a member of the Catholic Church? What is the procedure for an Anglican to be ordained as a priest?

Does anyone teach not laying your life down for a friend is the same grace or more than a mass. How do we evaluate the grace of our tradition?

25:00 Luther had a similar criticism of the confession. Tetzel had been selling indulgences and supposed said that if you bought an indulgence, you need not go to confession. I do not know how true this is, but that is what townsfolk said. In a strange way, Luther was actually defending a catholic understanding of confession. Or am I wrong?

We are sinful but God does not overlook our sin. We will still sin after we are saved but we are or do receive Christs righteousness .Jesus paid for our sin in full. By faith we enter in to a personal relationship with Jesus by acknowledging we have sinned and repent and rely on his death and suffering on our behalf . Salvation comes by faith in Jesus as our messiah. It isn’t based on any of our works or partaking in sacraments. Salvation is a heart relationship . You have a poor understanding of Salvation by Faith which is a gift. No priest, no mass. Luther was full of errors as well. Yes there are Protestants as well that have wrong information on what the Catholic Church teaches and that still doesn’t excuse all of the solid known errors of the Catholic Catechism which in many cases conflicts with scripture.
