Very interesting. I assume from the title that this martial art being demonstrated is Asai's karate? He was certainly very special.

Bill, in fact it is Karate Shotokan, but the Sensei Asai had a differentiated technique, fruit of much basic training of Karate. Only those who master the basics can do these techniques. He had knowledge in martial arts, like White Crane Kung Fu, Judo among others and agglutinate everything. Oss

I can see some applications from wing chun's chum kiu form here. White crane is alive and well in the UK under the fantastic Wee Kee Jin and his senior students. Asai karate is also alive and well under the JKS umbrella.
