I'm a developer in the crypto space. It's really simple to understand what's happening. Too many people bought into the hype and over-extended themselves before the tech was ready, now their bailing out in droves. Oddly enough, between June to December their is a long list of tech being released in the space that will live up to many of the promises of the previous hype. Nations, banks and the most savvy tech leaders see it coming, that's why they have increased their involvement and changed their tune to a positive message. The technical obstacles preventing mainstream adoption are very minimal when looking at the problem from a one or two year time frame. Workable solutions have been proposed, many have been prototyped out, and some are already scheduled for release in the coming months.

Like most emerging tech industries, the updates are all over the place. EOS launches June 1st with a solution to smart contract scaling and other features that will, in my opinion, bring the most mainstream-like blockchain apps to the public. Devs in the crypto space are divided on EOS because their algorithm uses twenty one delegated block producers (voted in by the EOS token holders) instead of a traditional proof-of-work model. ETH has multiple solutions in the works such as Plasma, Raiden, Sharding, Polka-Dot and more. These will roll out over the course of 4-12 months. Cardano offers a long term bet (2019) with published papers, peer review and math proofs used as the foundation of their smart contract tech. NEO has second-layer tech in the works along with fundamental updates that will increase transaction speed and increase scaling further this year. They also just demonstrated converter tech that allows NEO to swap with ETH. Sidechain platforms are nearing completion with turnkey side chains available within the next 4-8 months for Ardor, Lisk and others. Blockchain interoperability is being tackled by Aion, ARK and more with prototypes already available for testing in some cases. There are about 20+ other significant tech releases slated this year that I would love to discuss but I don't want this post to become a novel. Despite the bear market, the space is a hotbed of innovation right now with a thousand things being developed at once. There is so much that I can't keep up, it reminds me of the early days of the Internet.

Buying low; selling high is never as easy as it sounds. If it were, then everyone would have Lambos. Late comers regretted not getting in before 10K, and now that it’s here, they are too afraid to get in. And that’s why the big shots always win, because they can set aside that emotion and eat all the weak hands:

Absolutely spot analysis. Emotions are no good in this game. All newbies came onboard way too late last year because of FOMO and they hit the dust, whilst the pro traders and whales reaped the profits. No one has a crystal ball, but mathematically the markets can't continually go down forever. There will be a point when the sellers dry up and the bid/ask prices get out of control again. The current value for the store of value market i.e. gold, art, cars and other collectibles is hundreds of trillions of dollars. If Bitcoin just captures 1% of the store of value market we are looking at a $150k per Bitcoin. If Millenials keep doing what they are doing and preferring cryptos to gold and putting 10% savings into cryptos. Bitcoin becomes 10 million per coin in less than 20 years. Sounds unlikely and crazy, but that's technically what's possible.

forks can create new forms of btc.. thousands of coins... create new coins whenever people want.... can you create new elements in nature and fork them whenever you want lol? yes bitcoins cool but price can only get so high before demand diminishes... then when people dont wanna buy it anymore holders realize its basically useless and panic dump on each other. idk im just not really getting it, i tried using bitcoin and it was a miserable experience for real world use anyways... and store of value? nah im good, id rather have a stable store of value then have to wake up worried everyday looking to see if my wealth is up or down 5-30% lol ill pass.

IF ti was a simple as buy low sell high - everyone would be doing the same, and nothing would ever move. Right now it is stagnant for this reason - too few players all waiting for someone to make the first big buying move/selling move - everyone figuring whoever moves first loses... Once adoption starts and a flood of new buyers come in ready to play, it will move again. This will be once tech is in place to actually use some of it.

To say history doesn't repeat itself is like saying the evolution of trade doesn't exist. We can all go back and forth on how news and speculation effects the day to day outcome of your favorite crypto. You would be lying to yourself if you said you didn't take news you've heard and smear it across your immediate community and created some sort of panic just for the simple pleasure of talking about it. We are in a revolution people and the medium of exchange is in its evolution. 20+ years ago when I was signing onto AOL for the first time, I thought my dad was really onto something. My dad was very good about staying on top of new technologies that would change the way we lived. He was on the forefront of voice command resident features that we so widely use today in our homes. He taught me how to build computers from nothing, tack welding, and the introduction of Email. He also showed me the value and what the future of the internet and computers have in store for us in the coming decades. Bottom line is, since inception of bitcoin in 2009, We have seen the finance industry slowly shift into the unknown possibilities of wealth. Not for the top 1%, not for the other top 49%, but for the bottom 50%. We have slowly grown to understand that we can take 3rd world countries and bring them up to par with the rest of the worlds economy. While taking 1st world countries and taking them down a peg or two bringing them to reality showing them that the people matter. Most importantly we've come to understand that we don't need banks to tell us what we can or can not do with the money that we broke our backs for. I'm not sure if you knew this, but income taxes were a series of bills passed during WW2 to allocate funds to support war and was to cease after the war was over. This was obviously too good of a business to just cease operation and that is why you still have taxation on income to this day. Pretty much its illegal and the contract ended over 70 years ago. So to me its no surprise we are here today attempting to take back what is rightfully ours, MONEY. The charts don't lie, the revolution of technology doesn't lie, nor does the evolution of exchange lie. Governments are slowly losing control of their financial future and they are seriously scared of LOSING. In 2009 began the single most important event to date in the financial sector and its HUGE, for you and I. By buying bitcoin and alt coins you are securing the future of the technology and the demise of whats been holding the world back from its true potential which would be government. We still need government obviously because people are too stupid to control themselves, but they don't need to dip their hands in our honey pot anymore, nor do they need to know where we are spreading our honey. Stop worrying about what Bitcoin and Alt coins day to day prices and divert your focus on what Bitcoin has done for us so far. Where it came from, the inception, the jobs it has created, and the wealth it has created for the average Joe. Blockchain is here to stay, and the currencies that follow are just beginning. Will the cake holder in your portfolio be in the top 100 in 10 years? Probably not, but there is one thing you can be sure of. Blockchain will be here and there is never a late opportunity to make your future great!. Blockchain is the revolution, Bitcoin is the evolution.

Nobody is thinking about the real traders in the world, the unemotional. They are watching these price moves and getting more and more interested. Yes its a rough patch, but anyone that has trading ambition and sees an extremely liquid asset having 1000% up years or dropping 40% in a week... that is opportunity for massive profits for traders than can capture it... even more so it will attract a shitton of wishful traders that will try to capture it... as long as bitcoin is secure, which it is, volatility just grows the pool of interest.

The only things worth saving in life are your sanity, your loved ones and your values. Don't put more in than you can afford to lose in order to not fail at saving the former (loved ones), but, don't be a fool, either. For most of our post-civilization existence, our personal "societal value" (what our work and being is worth in terms of what resources it safely grants us access to) has been manipulated by the central authorities who control the money supply and enforce it's "value" with their military might. Don't get me wrong, society has many, many perks, one of which is that it allows for better organization and cooperation when it comes to advancing technology, education, etc. But one glaring problem with it has always been the "commoner's" dependence on the ruling class when it comes to determining their net worth. It's as easy as moving a few sliders around in the banking's computer system to manipulate your net worth one way or another. Money shouldn't be centrally controlled by only a few men, that much should be clear by now, if not self-evident. Bitcoin aims to solve that problem. This is truly a revolutionary undertaking.

So few people understand BTC. Even the bullish. These are sit back in an easy chair, pop some popcorn & enjoy the show moments. Cryptocurrency is the future of $. Period! A generation from now, it will be like the smart phone. Understanding it & the learning curve to operate on chain in a safe & secure manner is the challenge at this stage of its adoption. That’s why there are so few of us (true cryptocurrency millionaires aiming at billions). We are the Morgan Stanley’s of the future (with a positive twist). But solutions for the masses are happening at a geometric pace. As they are implemented, so will adoption. The real story is what is happening in the war between centralized & decentralized ecosystems. Watch what happens in 2023. We’re still on the leading edge of this revolution! I’m just sayin..

Jonathan Andrew There are other significant factors that are likely contributing to the recent price decline in bitcoin and the overall crypto space. Here are just a few: 1.) the broader investment markets are becoming very volatile of late and have been losing a lot of dollar value over the last couple of months. You can see this by looking at a stock market index like the S&P 500 or NASDAQ. This is likely to create a bit of uncertainty with investors which, in one's estimation, doesn't make it too much of a stretch to conclude that a broader and broader amount of potential investors in any asset (stock or crypto or what-have-you) are becoming a bit more hesitant to pull the trigger. 2.) the recent ramping up of governmental agencies in the US and other first world nations to regulate crypto and refine taxation laws to include specifically crypto related profits. There are still questions in the air about where this will all end up and a lack of clarity when it comes to how to legally deal with crypto...which brings me to my last point. 3.) we are nearing the end of tax season in the US. The deadline for tax payments in the US is April 17. You and I both know that many US citizens made a killing on crypto in 2017. Well, now they're left with the task of reporting all those gains, or risk breaking the law and perhaps facing harsh penalties, not excluding prison time. With the general lack of clarity around tax laws, as it pertains to crypto profits, this is a very stressful time for many who made big gains on crypto last year, to put it very mildly. My feeling is that #3 is the biggest force in the crypto market right now and I predict that we'll see a re-surge of volume after April 17, probably before the start of May. It would also make sense for the big players (institutional money/ hedge funds) to accumulate the assets before the retail money ramps up again. In fact, it would make sense to add to the selling pressure in order to get cheaper prices before the organic buying pressure builds up again within the broader market. That way they maximize profits when the next wave hits.

First, I don't hold any Bitcoin, none. However the whole purpose of bitcoin (and it's value) is that it is NOT Government backed. It is a decentralised asset. So early adopters have invested in it, BECAUSE it's not government backed. If it ever was government backed (which isn't possible and doesn't make sense) then it will be truly worthless. It's a bit like saying in 2002 I'm not buying google shares, look me up when the internet is shut down.
