Fundy’s light blue L’manburg outfit is actually called his “L’boyburg” outfit. It says so on the wiki. I feel like it shows how he wasn’t respected by many of the original L’manburg citizens. Niki had the same light blue outfit, and she wasn’t respected much either. Always talked over and stuff. I dunno. The more you know.

I was there watching Fundy’s stream when he wore that outfit. The wiki was a bit inaccurate in saying that. According to Fundy he colored it with a box of cheap crayons and called it a crayon suit. 😂

Now hear me out, when Dream told his reasoning for being evil was to return the server to its old day and make it a “happy family” he was lying, not just to the viewer but to himself, here’s why. Dream has a god complex, he wants to be better then everybody else so he tries to prove that he’s better by manipulating others, breaking them, Dream knows he’s physically stronger then everybody but he wants to prove he’s mentally greater then everybody, that he can corrupt anyone and make anybody do what he wants, and it’s this that’s the reason he loves/hates Tommy, cause no matter what he does to him, exile him, put him in prison, take away his home and convince his friend to betray him, to even sending Tommy through hell and back, Tommy never breaks, he almost does a few times but in the end Tommy finds a way to rebel against Dream, to find a way to still rebel against him. That is why Dream can’t permanently kill Tommy, cause if he does that without breaking Tommy’s spirit, without proving that he’s mentally superior, he can’t kill him cause if he does, that means Tommy got the better of him, and he can’t let that happen because it would destroy his ego. Now why is that important? Because when Dream says he wants the server to be how it used to be he means he wants to live in a world where he was top dog, he was unquestioned has the greatest and nobody fought against him, because nobody had anything worth fighting Dream for, when Tommy came into the server he brought with him something worth fighting Dream, the disks. Suddenly others began to have these things and now Dream feels he is being forgotten, they aren’t treating him has a god since they care more about other things then him so he has to take those things away so that he can so that he can prove that his order, his law is absolute and that nobody is above him, if he decides somebody shouldn’t have something, they won’t. Dream has a character justifies what he does because he sees it has him retiring the server to a time where it was more peaceful, where nobody rebelled against him and everybody excepted his law has the only one. Dream is a character driven by the need to satiate his ego and his need to be the best without exception.

As someone who's been a fan of his character since the beginning, I genuinely can not tell you how frustrating it is that his character is so underused and underrated. HE'S PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING CHARACTERS AND THEY NEVER LET HIM DO ANYTHING- ("C! Fundy", more like "wasted potential". I'm sorry I'm just being salty :/)

@@ricardojr.salamanca7204I think you misunderstood. Niki’s character is great! She’s an amazing creator, and everything she’s done with her character is cool... but there’s a problem. From Tommy, Wilbur, or Techno’s perspective, the most watched people, Niki isn’t important. Sure, that’s apart of the POINT of her arc, but look at it from a story perspective... It means there are many Dream SMP fans who’s first impression of Niki is her burning the tree. And as such an important moment, it was important that it come from an important character. Otherwise, nobody cares. It doesn’t have the weight behind it. Imagine if Fundy did it, for a moment. He was born and raised in L’zmanburg. He watched his father built this nation, and destroy it. He could do nothing but watch the three presidents he trusted fail to save his from destruction. You have to watch Niki to see how cool her character was. But Fundy? He was there from the beginning. He was among the first citizens. He worked under Schlatt. He was apart of the Butcher Army. People know who he is, what he stands for, and what he’s been through. Doomsday falls a little flat, compared to other major events, like November 16th. Everyone knows it. The reason, is that November 16th has multiple things going for it. You got Techno’s bunker, the attack, Schlatts death, Tubbo’s inauguration, button room, and Techno’s withers. If we’re fair, and include the Green Festival, we have the festival, the community house, and the Ranboo argument, but Doomsday just blends together with the dogs and withers and the tnt, with lots of yelling between techno and Tommy, and ends with the anthem. We needed that tree burning to be important. We needed no arguing in the background with a random side character most people didn’t know about. We needed it to be as compelling as the button scene. We needed Fundy. The scene starts off with Niki, (not Hbomb) giving Fundy the flint and Steel. Telling him to light the tree. She can hint about the flag burning, and suggest that the LMantree needs to go. Then Fundy is stopped by Ghostbur, and they have another fight. Fundy tells him that the Nation he built is dead, and Ghostbur tries to tell him that everything’s fine, and they can go back to the way it was. Then Fundy says “It was never meant to be.” And lights the tree. It’s perfect, because Fundy is an extension of Wilbur. Wilbur’s mistakes heavily formed who Fundy became. And to see another father in Wilbur’s line fail to stop their son from betraying their home, would be very poetic. Not only that, but it would mean that out of the five L’Manburg generals who fought in the revolution, Tubbo and Tommy are the only ones who never gave up. It’s just them vs Dream. Imagine that. I’m going to repeat it. Out of the original five, Eret, Wilbur, and Fundy stop believing. But then, Tommy and Tubbo win. They finish the symphony together. Fundy needed to be the one to say the line to make that happen. And it would have been beautiful if it did. And you know how Niki has this subtle moment where she goes crazy after seeing Ghostbur? That can’t be subtle. She needs to freak out, right then and there. In front of Ghostbur and Fundy. Where Ghostbur can try and comfort her but she runs away. That would be a scene that would both put Niki on the map, but give Fundy the moment he deserved. It could have been remembered as just as good as the button scene. That is what I mean. It was a really obvious decision, so it’s sad they didn’t make it.

God I adore Fundy’s character it’s one of my favorites on the smp. I think it’s tragic how many people don’t look more into his character, because it’s genuinely so sad. He has the same luck with father figures as Tommy does brother figures and that’s all I have to say on that

@@Insorainity I think Wilbur is a very prominent one, but it can be argued he idolized Schlatt in the same way in his first appearance, and then there’s Dream and Techno. I call them brother figures because they’re people Tommy idolized and saw as someone he could trust in at some point. During exile where Dream was manipulating him to think so, and during the partnership with Techno. He already sort of admired Techno in a “OMYGOSHITS THE BLAAAAADE” way, more in the way you’d admire a celebrity, but during the partnership they actually grew an emotional bond before they fell out

As someone who's dealt with abusive parents, something i've noticed is that when interracting with Ghostbur, Jack manifold basically told Fundy to be nice to the ghost, because it was his father. I may just be projecting, but that's something many children who get abused hear: "They're your family, you ought to just suck it up and deal with it". This is another, far more subtle way fundy is being dismissed, though it is far more real than some people would expect.

Dear god, is Fundy underrated. He has so much character, personality, depth, and if people could recognize that, he’d be one of the biggest influencer in the SMP. He’s been through a lot of trauma and twists and turns, and yet nobody takes him seriously, so to get that attention he craves he has to be the upper-hand; the villain, if he wants to go that far. I think that a large part of his character is authority, more specifically a parent. Phil was the closest thing he had to one, but after the Butcher Army their relationship soured. Phil also seems to ignore him, poke fun at him, and not see him as family. In the Syndicate, Phil seems biased too, treating Ranboo like a favorite child, even though both Ranboo and Fundy have been in the same Butcher Army against the same people. Regarding parents, take a look at Tubbo, Ranboo, and Michael. Two parents in a healthy relationship with a happy child. What he’s always wanted. So it makes absolute sense that he’d be angry or salty-he’s jealous of Michael. And it’s sad because nobody sees that, and he doesn’t tell anyone that. (And if he did, they probably won’t care.) Fundy’s one of my favorite characters. I relate to him a little-he’s a teen who doesn’t know who he is, or if he’s good enough for anyone, and nobody’s there for him. He’s also transgender, so it’s nice having some representation. But yeah, Fundy will always be my favorite, whether he’s roleplaying or not.

It's actually really sad how UNDERATED and MISUNDERSTOOD character Fundy actually is. He lost everything. His family (including Philza) dream(even tho that's not completely cannon) he lost his home his friends his trust. People who he looked up too walked over him left him unnoticed and left him in the dust. Every one just makes jokes and move on but noone actully had the guts to ask him how he feels instead. He's done so much to prove he's worth more than being a joke but on the end nothing ever matters...even when he DID became the villian noone truly cared because at this point everyone have been betraying eachother so it was no point another person was gonna break any second sooner or later. They still moved on and left him. If people actually took a notice and let him do something and then actully be proud of him he could have gone so many good things. He could literally be the hero. But since people don't care they chose to abandom him instead...i guess u could say *It was never ment to be*

I feel like you really nailed Fundy's character here. I've always seen him as someone desperate to be noticed by the people he looks up to, but at the same time he tries to push past them to become someone for himself. Recently, tho Fundy hasn't been in the "lore" lore, he's done two streams of building dirt houses in front of Phil and Techno's house. The first one, his dirt mansion, was torn down immediately. He built his second dirt house in the sky, and that was promptly taken down. Since he has clashed so much with other people in his struggles with himself, he's truly ended up with nowhere to go and no one to be with. Philza doesn't want him there. He betrayed L'Manburg, his birth nation, but he also made enemies with those who weren't apart of L'Manburg, so no one's forgiving him any time soon. Does he even have a home? He has Dry Waters, but I' not sure he has a house built there. His old home is griefed and L'Manburg is decimated, the fox orphan literally has no one. His attempts to be closer to his grandpa were denied, and Ranboo and Tubbo still remember that he was the one to destroy L'Manburg's supplies. PLUS, he threatened Michael(who Fundy is probably jealous of bcuz the kid has two parents who are actually caring and present). The Dream and Fundy relationship might not be canon to the SMP, but we can still see some instances of it being sort of canon(Dream buying flowers for George and then realizing Fundy knew) But I feel like Fundy's unrequited crush (whether the wedding was canon or not) also played a role into him feeling angry and not good enough. Like he says in the video, whatever he did didn't matter. So yeah, Fundy has made lots of enemies and not many friends by trying to cut a path for himself. Lately, he put TNT in the community house to see who would blow it up. Another action that would give him attention- and an action that mimics his father. Fundy's character is frustrating to me, because I always hope for him to strive, but he always seems to backpedal or lash out, causing him to be stuck alone forever. Well, maybe not completely alone. He's always got Catmaid HBomb ;) Plus, has anyone heard of the "Cogchamp is all in Fundy's Imagination" AU? Someone posted on Twitter how Dry Waters looks awfully familiar to the spawn in Cogchamp SMP, and in that world everything goes Fundy's way, and he has fun and gets to be around people who like him and share similar interests. Dry Waters could be a place where the orphan fox boy goes to day dream his problems away, in the world were 5up is there for him. BTW, great video! As you can see, it really got me thinking XD

Another really interesting detail is that he still has Schlatt's sword ("Shclatt") and I think he does so because, in a way, he genuinely believed in Schaltt, maybe because he saw that same passion, and bravado in his eyes that Wilbur had in the war. I think he keeps the sword because while under Schlatt, he still grew up, he started to learn the absolute lengths of evil that a simple man can do with enough power, that greatness doesn't demand respect, it commands it. And while he does hate Schlatt because of what he did, he doesn't want to deny that he still learned a lot, changed, and grew up because of him, whether intentional or not. I think his relationship with Schlatt does not get explored enough, I mean, he was one of his main father figures, and disturbingly, the most present one.

Fundy is my favorite character, and i say that Fundy should've got more attention, and the fact that he HAS enough pontentian and history to be "the main character" makes me angry of how underrated he is. Fundy was extremely important during events like Manburg vs Pogtopia and doom's day, AND he was the L'manburg's younger member, with 9 frecking years. But he still not Tommy's shadow like eveyone thinks, but WILBUR'S shadow, sinse most of the members only see him as wilbur's child (like Dmsp!Phil once said "It runs in the family"). And that's where the community house experiment from 3 days ago comes in, if the members "canonically" find out FUNDY setted up the TNT's he'll probably be seen as an 2nd Wilbur. So yea i love Fundy and i say this MF should take one of Technoblade's canon lifes. /rp

Ok so I don’t remember when but sometime after doomsday Fundy said in a stream that all he wanted was to be noticed and to make everyone come together. he proceeded to say that if he couldn’t be a hero then he’d make everyone come together even if it was to fight against him. He also mentioned some stuff about how Wilbur chose Tubbo over him to become president. I really do hope we get a villain ark for him just because his character is one of my favorites and is so underrated he’d just be a great villain. I do think we might have to wait a bit since Dreams escape form prison, Schlatt’s revival and the eggpire all seem to be ready to have a big role on the server. I could see Fundy joining Dream or Schlatt but I think his character would be waaayyyy better if he had a solo villain ark.

I really liked your video on Philza and Fundy is one of my favorite characters so I was excited to watch this. Fundy's character is truly tragic and I would like to see more from him. I really want to see if he gets a redemption arc or ends up like his father. It seems like he has this "fate of failure" and Doomsday was the day that he realized tragedy was his destiny. It even popped up in his stream with Ranboo, Tubbo and Phil when Phil said, "it runs in the family" after Fundy accidentally blew up the side of a hill in Snowchester. Even though Phil's remark was meant to be cynical, Fundy took it as a form of recognition. A droplet of acceptance from his estranged grandfather, to which Phil immediately disregarded. Fundy's character rn seems to be focused entirely on pranks and inciting chaos on the server. He's had a bit of egg lore, but other than that, he's forced himself almost completely out of the loop. If Fundy's character is given enough time to grow on his own, develop stable and healthy relationships, and do things he loves like experimenting with red stone, I think he could heal completely. But, I'm afraid that Wilbur's revival will just rope him into everything again and open up old scars. I'd also really love to see Fundy and Ranboo's characters interact more because they both seem like fairly neutral characters and that argument they had before Doomsday was chalk full of amazing lines and character lore.

OMG!! YES FINALLY! THANK YOU! THIS IS ACTUALLY A WONDERFUL ANALYSIS OF THE CHARACTER HE PORTRAYS! Its so nice to see that someone actually understands what he's been through and how he is, instead of just immediately vilifying him, especially after his confrontation with Ranboo on Doomsday, where people took Ranboo's unfair judgement of his character to heart. People just seem to love to misunderstand and misconstrue him, especially since not many people seem to watch his pov. He is arguably one of the earliest established characters and is not only one of the most consistent but also one of the most well developed character there is. It absolutely sucks that he doesn't get to shine much since he has so much potential, and it sucks even more when people cast judgement towards him without actually trying to learn and understand his character :(. WHICH IS WHY IM SO THANKFUL THAT U ACTUALLY SHED LIGHT ON HIM!!! I also want to add something about him too! You know how Ranboo is always on about "Choose people, not sides"? Fundy is literally "Choosing people, not sides" incarnate, and here are my reasons as to why: 1. He has always chosen Wilbur- from the very beginning, a lot of what Fundy does is for Wilbur. When it was first established that Fundy is Wilbur's son, Wilbur made it clear that he didn't have to fight in the war because he's the 1st natural born citizen of Lmanberg, but Fundy fought in the war anyways and that reason is Wilbur, because he wanted Wilbur to acknowledge him, to actually see him as a man and what he can do and not just baby him and belittle him. The only time he actually went against him was during The Election, where Fundy ran his own party with Niki, and not only just because he doesn't align with any other party's ideals during that time, but also again to prove himself to his father, that he is actually capable of taking care of the nation that Wilbur made for him. Even when he turned spy against Manberg he did it for Wilbur. The only time where Fundy felt like he was betrayed by Wilbur was when he died, as seen with his confrontation with Ghostbur and his conversation with Quackity, Tubbo and Ghostbur while they were rebuilding New Lmanburg. He wasn't mad at Wilbur for blowing up L’Manburg, he wasnt mad that Wilbur didnt choose him as the new president, he wasnt mad that Wilbur ended up betraying their side, he was mad that Wilbur chose to die. 2. He was the first OG Lmanbergian to ever forgive Eret- it's no secret that the entirety of the OG Lmanbergians were betrayed by Eret inside the Final Control Room, and because of this both Wilbur and Tommy have always been hostile with Eret afterwards. Tubbo didn't really interact with them a lot during that, so i can't properly gauge how Tubbo felt about them. But Fundy was the first person to approach them again, starting with the harmless pranks that they both do to each other. Fundy was the first person that trusted them again even after Eret had nearly cost them their freedom. Eret was also the only person that Fundy trusted enough to reveal his plan as a spy to, while Tommy and Wilbur consistently refused their help when they kept trying to redeem themself. He also trusted Eret enough as a parent figure and was ecstatic when Eret said they were going to adopt him. 3. He very nearly chose Schlatt- While he was a spy under the guise of serving Schlatt, he very nearly turned after Schlatt actually gave him acknowledgment. When he actually saw the country that Wilbur made for him nearly flourish under Schlatt’s regime, and when Schlatt actually acknowledged him for his worth and capabilities and not just babied him like what Wilbur did, he was conflicted on who to choose. On one hand, he was a spy to prove himself to his father, on the other hand, Schlatt is actually giving him the acknowledgment that he has craved for his entire life. He was so conflicted that he even dedicated an entire entry in his spy diary of how he has conflicting feelings on which is right. Only after Schlatt proved himself to be the tyrannical dictator that he is did Fundy solidify his resolve as a spy and ultimately chose Wilbur again. 4. During Doomsday, Fundy chose Ranboo- this conversation hurt so much, especially because Ranboo unfairly judged Fundy while Fundy was actually breaking down. Ranboo criticized him for always choosing the winning side and for being a coward when its actually the complete opposite of that. Fundy has never been a coward, he never ran at the face of danger, he never strayed from his ideals, and he is willing to go through such far lengths just to be able to prove himself of worth (i.e running against his father, burning down the flag, double crossing etc etc.) Fundy has also never chosen the winning side, again, he is the actual poster boy for "Chose people, not sides". From the very beginning he has always chosen people, and now at this situation whether he realized it or not, he chose Ranboo. During the New Lmanberg era, when Ranboo just recently joined, he and Fundy formed a quick friendship. Starting immediately with building and ice cream business together, exploiting the various glitches that Fundy found (flying strider, fundy boat glitch), decorating for the Green Festival together and just hanging out in general. Both of them got really close during this time, something even akin to brotherhood. But that all changed after the Green Festival, after Doomsday. Because of the misunderstanding, and because both of them were not in their right minds during Doomsday, both released hurtful words hurled towards each other. But what Ranboo didnt realized when Fundy said he was teaming with him, was that Fundy chose him. After he sabotaged Lmanberg's supplies, after he just watched the chaos and destruction unfold on the land that his father gave him, Fundy ultimately chose another person, the person he was closes to at this time, which was Ranboo. I don't blame Ranboo for misconstruing what Fundy said. Both of them weren't in the right mindset at all during that time, with Fundy having a breakdown and Ranboo thinking that staying alone and individuality is the only right answer, but that doesn't really deny the fact that Fundy still chose him, Ranboo. Anyway, sorry that this is so fucking long. I just really wanted to get this out. Either way, GREAT JOB ON YOUR PORTRAYAL OF FUNDY'S CHARACTER AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE UR ANAYLIS ON OTHER CHARACTERS IN THE FUTURE!!! p.s, sorry if there's weird phrasing, im not a native english speaker

I understood at that time that Ranboo wasn't thinking straight, but atleast he had someone that pulled him out of catastrophizing, unlike Fundy, who had to wallow in his own breakdown. It peeved me a bit too when Ranboo said he was going to apologize to Fundy if they meet again, only for when they did meet he hid behind Phil because he was scared of Fundy. But yeah, Fundy really has no one in the smp rn that actually truly cares about him the same way he is willing to care for them, and that is just unbelievably tragic :(

He's my favorite character and I always watch his pov The fox boy has made me cry qwq I really like his character cause he's so SO complex Also let's talk about his family Like we know about how wilbur treated him, not seriously at all But now later on his grandpa, Phil, the only family he has Phil fucking hates fundy Ok maybe not that much But ranboo is more closer to Phil than fundy which like Ranboo has been on the server for shorter, he is also a random enderman boi in the lore that has freaky memory problems (if we look at it roleplay wise) Like imagine fundy's feelings? His own grandpa has bassically disowned him, makes fun of him, doesn't help him when others make fun of him, ridicule him, take away his stuff, threaten him, push him away Like it could be cool if this was a "you remind me too much of my son wilbur, so I will push you away fundy" kinda thing for Phil but it isn't like that is it?? Fundy is so fucking alone Like there's still no one, eret didn't show up to his adoption, he doesn't have much friends When he tries to speak to other people (like with tubbo and ranboo and Phil in one of the latest streams) he just got killed and ridiculed *LIKE PLS I WAS SCREAMING I FELT SO MUCH PAIN THAT WAS SO HURTFUL* Like it just made me feel offended like damn why you gotta do him like that Anyways i have no idea where this has gone fundy's character is amazing, has the potential to go batshit insane or chill and just don't touch anyone I love him and im very sad about his fate I hope it either gets better for him or it will get worse for everyone when he goes apeshit and starts assassinating people one by one in their sleep Great video :3
