I’m glad I watched this I kinda knew this but it still helps, tomorrow I am going to be a pallbearer for my fathers funeral. I’m only 16 and he past earlier this month (December 6) he was only 41 and I miss him so so much. Rest In Peace Dad I love you to Heaven and Back.

I was a pallbearer. My brother died of cancer and he was only a few years older than me. He just started living life and now he's no longer here. Hey big Brother ...we ok down here man.

anyone reading this, it is a sad time, i have carried quite a few coffins and i still get anxious. my aunt is getting buried this week and i guess i am nervous but to you and i, just follow the instructions from the pros. i think it really is a great honour to carry someone at the end. you cannot go wrong if you follow the instructions

Gonna be the pallbearer for my grandma on Friday, and seeing as I live in the UK, it means carrying the coffin on my shoulders. It will also be my first time doing such a thing, and even though I am scared about falling over (I have dyspraxia etc), it's something that I have chosen to do.

Also....Watch out for uneven boards covered with fake grass/carpet at the grave site, it's easy to trip while carrying the casket as the weight shifts you may be lifting a great deal of weight for a short time as the guy next to you may bear no weight at all and vice versa.

Against what is expected. I like being a pallbearer. The walk gives me a visceral feeling of goodbye. I can get my grief out quick - the weight and the companionship of the others is really healthy for me. It’s like, they are gone, but y’all are still with me. Also, I have a BIG family. I’ve done this MANY times.

Kingsley Smith it was easy, youre not actually going to have to carry hardly any weight plus for my pap it was 10 feet from the car to the lift thing they used to move him.

No but you can ask to be an honorary pall bearers who go in front or behind the casket but don’t have any lifting abilities so you will lead or go behind the pall bearer line

Caskets alone are heavy.You need people who are stronger to be pallbearers,particularly when you have to go up and down stairs in a church.Sometimes those stairs can be steep with a turn or two.You really feel the weight then.

A honorary pallbearer doesn't carry the casket they walk beside it. Pallbearers carry the casket
