Hi! For those of us who don't or can't eat fat (heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk are both loaded with fat), there's an alternate way. I make it all the time. I use one container of Fat-Free Cool whip and 1/2 to 1 cup of fat free milk, depending on the flavoring, plus a 1/2 cup of sugar and 4-6 Splenda packets. If you use a fresh fruit puree` (any kind), strained, you would use the 1/2 cup of milk. If you are making a flavor using just an extract (like mint or vanilla or cocoa), then use 1 cup of milk. It's important that the sugar dissolves, so I always start by measuring the sugar and milk and stirring that well, then adding the flavoring and finishing with the Cool Whip, adding that a little at a time. I usually just stir it with a whisk. For flavors like cocoa and coffee, which are more bitter, use more Splenda. Always taste it before beginning the freezing process. You can use an ice cream maker or a metal pan in the freezer, stirring every 20 minutes until it becomes thick and difficult to stir. That's it. This recipe makes about 1-1/2 pints. I've made raspberry, lemon, strawberry, banana, coconut, mint, almond (WHY is almond ice cream not a thing?), coffee, mocha, orange, bailey's and coffee and espresso. (For coffee, pulverize 2-3 tablespoons of freeze-dried coffee.) Next I want to try anise for a licorice ice cream. I'm also thinking of getting root beer extract, too. The best part of this is, you can adjust the flavor to suit your taste. The last time I made chocolate, I went a little wild and put in 4 tablespoons of cocoa-- OMG! Now, THAT'S chocolate! LOL! Ditto with the coffee. But you could make French Vanilla coffee by adding a tsp of vanilla to the coffee-- or, whatever flavor you like. There's about 150-200 calories per serving in these (a real serving -- about a cup) and they are Fat-FREE. Of course, you could use the regular Cool Whip. It saves the step of having to mix the heavy cream and it's every bit as good. Some say "Cool Whip isn't real cream." That's true. But I cannot eat fats, at all (digestive issues). And no one needs those calories.

Whenever i see icecreams I'm reminded of the day when i had to go the doctor since i hogged chilled icecreams during the rainy season and got bad cough. The doc after checking my breathing, gave me TWO injections up my bums. I kept rubbing my bums till I reached home though i was driving my bike.
