I appreciate you saying that. I almost took it down because I don't like to show out of focus things but I wanted to be LIVE with you all at the same time... please check out the recent video I did where I show much sharper images and video BUT know that even those are not the original 4k they were shot in. The images on the 4k are stunning.

Very cool. I had fun looking at my fenugreek root tips the other day. Must try cutting them up to get a deeper look inside and try out the Fish Med Stains too. There was a big difference between the uninoculated and inoculated plants. Just need to learn more about what I am looking at. fascinating video. My various seed experiments are showing some differenced between the two groups also.

I've encountered the pyramid your talking about: lets change that. The questions you answer for me only give rise to better questions. I would like to add an observation of mine that water logged anaerobic environment's are not all bad. They can when the conditions are right give rise to symbiotic bacteria to bacteria to fungi relations. The cool thing is this also can allow for long term viable storage of these bacterial symbionts. After watching this video I'm going to start stacking my microscope photos with Helicon Focus👀 . Also, the MinION is fascinating I have so many questions to ask....🛸🌎

You're right - there's definitely something in the anaerobic stage that has more potential for differentiation of expression - as in: there may be more HGT activity happening. Have you heard of Zeiss imaging? It's only for PCs so I haven't checked it out yet but it can take images from multiple depths of a microbe and then map it into a 3D image = 3D microscopy is HERE!! Things are about to become so much more interesting as we do that and combine it with more and more accurate DNA testing.

@@ThePermacultureStudentI've checked out Zeiss imaging. Zeiss does has some of the best optics available and their Tech is very impressive. Thanks to your latest video " Should I Get a Microscope?" I'm connecting my Canon DSLR on my current microscope to a HD monitor. Goodbye eye strain! Thanks Matt!

Hey Matt, what method did you use to create your compost? I'm making aerobic compost using Elaine's ring, but this looks AMAZING!!!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

This is really latitude, rain fall, and humidity dependent. It does not apply easily to all areas of the country.

Hence the imperative for transparency of soil tests across bioregions - this is why I am crowdfunding the R-Soil Database: www.kickstarter.com/projects/mattpowers/regenerative-soil-microscopy-the-book-courses-and-database

What about the idea to grow living roots in a JohnsonSueBioReactor? (still have to watch full video) Does anyone here has experience with that?😅 Thanks Matt very great detailled work! So detailled and also with things from John Kempf that I really think about getting your book!

Ahh, the one sacrophitic fungi will eat the miccorhizal fungi...😕 I guess. Yeah. So now at least this idea can die. It is good to have lesser and only good ideas. 🤷🏻♂️

Is there a machine learning tool to identify and count these organisms automatically?
@ThePermacultureStudent2 жыл бұрын
Yes - it's in last week's videos. It's an AI that's online BUT it requires things to be pretty darn diluted and then it's not a LIVE/DEAD stain scenario. I don't know what it would do with debris like humic compounds. Things are in the works, but it's early days. I think using a LIVE/DEAD stain with epifluorescence and AI is the key to making the counts accurate and then maybe we can even have it calculate the humic/mineral % as well according to color and we can determine the relative ratios of everything then which would be very useful as we start to compile and compare.

Matt , would feeding the compost to worms take care if the e coli issue? Thank you so much for everything. 😊🙏✨🌱💚🔥
@ThePermacultureStudent2 жыл бұрын
Pathogens persist because all the other e.coli persist - they eat the same foods and are saprophytic, facultative endophytes: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0956053X16304111

Hey Matt, besides bacteria and fungal hyphae, should we be seeing higher level microorganisms like nematodes in healthy aerated compost tea or do they die due to the agitation during aeration?
@thedealer799 Жыл бұрын
Yo Matt what microscope camera do you use? I always find myself getting eye fatigue using the viewing binoculars.
@Boonsbikes132 жыл бұрын
So if you got good soil structure plenty of bacteria and fungi the nematodes and Celia will show up or do you have to course them or bring them in? Just got my microscope a couple days ago and I’m getting started on learning this
@ThePermacultureStudent2 жыл бұрын
not necessarily - they should but that's not always the case. That's why looking is key :)
