The bottlenose dolphin known as Fungie has lived in frequented the waters of Dingle Harbor in County Kerry for 37 years. In that time he’s become a popular tourist attraction and an essential part of life in the small fishing town.

Sadly they didn’t... Everyone is gutted...I went to go see him and I was so happy!! But a walrus has ended up in Ireland on St.Patricks Day and the next day he was spotted in Wales!

Awww. 😔 I first saw Funghi back in 1996 in Dingle bay. Very friendly dolphin. Sadly, it would seem he likely lived out the fullness of his life. 🙏❤️

Saw him every time we went to dingle love the town and surrounding area and hope he's back soon was always magical seeing him come along side the boat and he will be sorely missed by many if gone for good very sad 😔

Ah man it's sad. We just saw Fungie just over 2 weeks ago and I was touched as I never saw a dolphin in real. We were lucky but I'm sad now.

I hope it's not RIP Fungie! But at his age, I think it's likely the case. I saw him in the summer of 2009. I'm glad I got to see him. I'm an American living in Germany and my wife is German. We had just married and spent three days in Dingle. We love and miss you!
