I missed two bonfires straight was so worn down with ghosts on my ass when I saw that bonfire across from the dogs. I just made it but started the lighting bonfire animation and almost immediately got blasted by a lightning projectile. Thank you so much for this vid, still helpful all these years later

Didnt even mention that the weird eyed tree can repair your broken stuff ? Just whip it with any whip class weapon and stand very close to it.. It will repair durability and even repair all broken stuff currently equipped, even rings.. Dont kill it much.. Afaik it will stop respawning after you kill it few times

@ 2:34 ANY projectile wont work, i tryd it with arrows and they didnt break. I guess you need either a greatbow with great arrows or a projectile spellcast like in your case lightning spear. But any projectile definetly dont work.

Regular wooden arrows will not work. You need iron arrows and the like in order for objects to break,

Liked!! Thank you, I actually missed a lot in this DLC. I never found the tombs of the second pack of ghosts and didn't got to the optional boss. I basically got the dragon stuff to unlock and access the dlc boss, killed it and continued with the ivory dlc.

I'm pretty sure that Flynn's ring works with VITALITY and not just equip load. If you have very low vitality (the stat that determines equip loads) and you stay below 50%, you get a max of +50 AR, equivalent of Ring of Blades +2. But you basically have to dress with starting armor, or go naked with like 5 Vit. Sneaky From Soft

Looks like it works that way then! I played the DLC with my pure melee, pure physical warrior with Faraam armor, and I had something like 24-25 Vitality. I was under 50% but I got only like 15 AR with the ring on. So, you wanna stay low with that stat, to max out the effect of the ring.

to get max dmg (50 dmg) from a ring, your equip load has to be bellow 60. with third dragon ring 9 vitality is enough

Subbed, excellent editing and I appreciate that you pointed out the most important item/ weapons without getting too much into the minutia and the fact that you cleared out most of the enemies, so you're not just constantly either bolting or fighting to show the way. Plus everything was so thorough, for example, those guys in the sanctum who are ghosts. Ghosts, I had killed the first two and made them physical again but then I stopped playing for a little while and got back on and I was very confused. I use hexes so it wasn't that bad, but considering I didn't know how to lower the spikes either, I was usually just cheesing them or going for backstabs, I eventually figured it out on my own but had I had your guide it would have been so much easier. Plus I was also looking for the puzzle sword and I couldn't find it in any guide. I saw even though it was mentioned constantly. Must be the switches. Anyways, I'm now definitely going to check out your guide for the burnt ivory king and the old iron King DLCs as I have started both but I'm not done yet with either. Cheers!

You missed the drakeblood set in near the alana boss area when your jumping down with cat ring equiped near the bottom instead of jumping down go to the other side take the steps a knight will charge at you fight him (on or qbove the steps) kill him continue down another knight will ambush you kill him the set is on a corpse

I think the boss Elana is weak to strike, I could beat her in less than 2 minutes just by 2 handing a "large club +10", plus the quartz ring +3 and the Alonne captain set (decent defense to physical attacks and good against fire) enough to tank some hits. Also used the alluring skull to keep the summoned skeletons distracted, that removes the chance of fighting Velstadt if you aren't in NG+1. Took me 4 deaths until I came with this strategy.
