The now deceased Funjet of doom.. let down by a faulty throttle stick on a brand new DX8, after 4 years of reliable 200mph flying on the old DX8. Crashed after launch a few weeks after this video.

Its crazy the motors can handle all that power. Topthumbs.

And some, I think the motor can take more. :-) ..but I always think that till there is fire :-) Hows the Radjet?

Man oh man any info on what went wrong with the throttle stick.. issues/signs to look out for?
@OMEGOOLIEBIRD3 ай бұрын
It was just a loose indent ratchet on the throttle stick, so once I had launched, the throttle stick fell down! I tighten them up a bit now, and it has never happened again .i only had one other failure which was esc/battery not plugged in properly and the motor cut out. But other than those 2x incidents, it has been a 100% reliable launch method.

@@OMEGOOLIEBIRD yeah i'm used to seeing them launched like that, first time I saw a launch like that it was MicroJet with NEU motor on 4s at least 16 years ago.

Amazing! I'm working on setting up a Funjet Ultra 2 for 6S with Turnigy 3659 1900Kv motor and APD ESC. Can you tell me what propeller drive collet/adapter you use?
@OMEGOOLIEBIRD3 жыл бұрын
hi, motor shaft is 5mm, Graupner/speedline prop hub centre is 8mm, so you need a 5mm to 8mm collet adapter. Use a regular nut not a 'nosecone' style nut, they won't balance well enough.

Hey Dude, really impressed by the strength of your vid signal on your raw cam feeds. what freq, power and antennas are you using for video? Those spitfire vids were beautiful.
@OMEGOOLIEBIRD7 жыл бұрын
Many thanks Ryan, here is a build video of my spitfire which shows the freq, antennas and ground station. I use the same gear in most of my builds.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKq8hZaHjMSFkJY

HI RUPERT, DID YOU HAVE A 3674 ON THIS AIRFRAME AS WELL?. SEEMS A LITTLE SLOWER THAN YOUR OTHER BUT STILL A HAND FULL.

Hey Jeff, no this is the Hobbyking SK3 3659 1900KV with a Graupner 7x7. It is much slower and much more quiet than the leopard!! Still just makes 200mph though, and plenty fun LOS..Please, please send me a video when you get flying with the Leopard! I love the noise of them!!

Nice man!!! How many amps is that and what battery? I think I’d like 2 minutes at 150 mph. I could travel several miles FPV in that time lol
@OMEGOOLIEBIRD6 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, It is around 180-200 amps with the 7x7 prop on it. About 1 minute at full throttle and its time to bring it down. The battery is a 3000mah 6s Graphene with the cover and G10 plates removed. (saves 35g) Li-ion is the way to go for speed and endurance.. See my 'Tesla Funjet' videos, that will hold 130mph for 10 minutes. Total flight of 80km at a lower throttle too.

great speed! still running the leopard on 6s and 7x7 props? :-)
@OMEGOOLIEBIRD6 жыл бұрын
hehe, the Leopard is still alive and perfect! It is amazing that it has not burned. This plane has the SK3 1900kv on 6s with a 7x7, just so that you can fly for more than 10 seconds! The Leopard kills the batteries, maybe 10 flights and they are finished...
@fljugamaur56686 жыл бұрын
amazing! and nothing to help with flight stabilization? he looks amazingly stable on those low passes!
@OMEGOOLIEBIRD6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, no gyro/accel on this one, it would be very difficult to tune with current processors, the refresh time is too slow. I think a very fast processor would be required to effectively react in time. I just wiggle my thumbs and hope for now... :-) Thanks for watching.
