Awesome! Your old man was so proud of you for real at that point! Not saying that he was not proud of you before that, but you definitely got his approval that day! Awesome! Reminds me of how I bonded with my dad!
Doctor: You only have 5 minutes to live. Patient: I want to listen to Maggot Brain Doctor: But that's 8 minutes long. God: I'll allow it...

Listen to "Who's That Lady" by the Isley Brothers. Ernie Isley rivals Jimmy Hendrix.

Eddie may have written it, but Michael perfected it. And we are all so lucky to be around for it. The song that made me pick up the guitar and developed me into a musician. 🫡🙏🏻🥲

George told Eddie to write a song, with the thought that his Momma had just died.............to this day, EVERY guitar worth their chops has covered this mournful, iconic track, and tried in their own way, to convey, what Eddie had created. None has succeeded. This is Eddie Hazel thinking about his Momma........and making her proud of what his abilities have provided his family.

Totally agree with all those that said that this is the best rendition of that brilliantly composed instrumental guitar masterpiece by Eddie Hazel that I've heard... so far. And I been listening to each one I can get my hands on. Even after listening to 10 different performances/recordings, it STILL doesn't get old! Play it again, and crank it!

Greatest guitar solo ever. I seriously get Hendrix like chills.... But deeper. Eddie wrote it....Hampton murdered it like Aretha murdered Carole King's natural woman.

I don't know what yall know, but this is a classic... and the remake done by Santana (no one else could have pulled it off) is brilliant. Those who dislike this, didn't live in the time it was made, and can't understand the concept behind the music....Eddie and Mike (R.I.P.) contributors to what REAL music is and should be.

Ditto to the purest high guitar solo in the history of modern music. Funkadelic's eternal Tribute to the late great Jimi Hendrix. Besides Jimi, Hampton, Ernie Isley, and the late Stevie Ray Vaughn were about the only pickers back then, who could master this song verbatim. Long Live the FUNK

Hampton is great but after eddie returned to basic atoms Hampton struggled with coming up with his own original guitar solos and is known for playing Eddie's leads. The analogy is eddie was god and michael was Moses.
