Thorogoods have become my go to brand ever since I got my first pair by happenstance, because our company gets a discount on them, and the company pays $80 towards work boots every year making them damn near free for me. They were the most comfortable work boots I ever wore. Had composite toe too, so it made them extra light. They lasted me almost 2 solid years, plus they look real nice too. Can’t recommend thorogoods enough to anyone looking for new boots.

Firstly, after that horror story, I'm glad to hear you're ok, still... sounded painful. Nearly lost a big toe wearing steel toe caps back in the day, not due to an accident, but due to the boot. Worn composite boots ever since and would never go back. Secondly, really appreciate your videos and your effort, your wisdom, and above all, your honesty, it's becoming increasingly difficult to trust people when it comes to such videos, over the years too many have sold out. I also admire the effort you put into engaging with and replying to the community that you have built up here, kudos... and finally a merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy new year to you sir.

@@FunkFPVquick question for you brother. How were you doing those attachments. Where they at your shop or you're going to Warehouse to Warehouse replacing these. If so how did you get around the hot work permits? Also I have one of those 90° die grinders at work they work great they do get a little temperamental when you start running them for some time the thermal overload gets a little wonky.

Love the follow up. I appreciate when people actually use things! For the dewalt the clutch is super nice for more sensitive work like electronics. I use mine for building PC's, repairing speakers, also swapping components in server racks. Im usually on 3 or 5 for the clutch so I dont squish things. Flipping between angled and straight has become a bit of a fidget toy. The only thing I have more control with than the gyro are my Snap-On with the analogue toggle style trigger, that may be since ive been using them over 10 years though...

I worked maintenance at an apartment complex and one of the best tools a bought was a Craftsman electric screwdriver. Mine does the swivel and it's a little cheaper then the DeWalt. It has an internal battery and there's no clutch. But like you said I never needed it. It's perfect for stuff like changing outlets or hot/cold valve cartridges for bathtubs. In one of the apartments the property manager wanted me to change every single outlet in the apartment. So having that little driver was a huge time saver. Not having to use my impact or regular drill was nice too. Having a smaller slower driver is just nice for smaller tasks. I highly recommend grabbing something similar in whatever your preferred tool brand is if they have one. The little Craftsman has served me pretty well.

@Mwalshlastboy53
@Mwalshlastboy53 9 ай бұрын
@@warrenupchurch427 That is the only downside. Though charging it was never a problem. The battery lasts more then a day and as long as a remembered to charge it over night it wasn't really any different then keeping my drill batteries charged. But a swappable battery would be nice.

When I’m using it at home and I need to do a lot of grinding. I can use it with a 6ah and do way more grinding than with my pneumatic because I don’t have a giant air compressor.

I could never go without a cordless grinder doing metal work...flap discs live on most of mine (I have a few in different sizes) as I don't do a lot of cutting with a grinder (usually my dry cut saw or portaband) but they're just so much more handy to grab for cleaning up before/after welding.

@@zaxmaxlax tripping over a cord...I have a few corded grinders too, but the cordless is so convenient and never in the way or tangled up on something. Usually for weld cleanup a single 5ah will last me a day of work in the garage. I will use the corded if I have a lot to do, or need more material removed (I have a big 7 inch as well)...but with 3 cordless, two 20v and one 60v, I'm not left wanting for corded much anymore.

One thing to keep in mind regarding the dewalt screw driver. I believe they are discontinuing the 8v line. I’ve seen it mentioned on their site when they respond to comments along with other sites (Lowe’s/hd reviews) when people complain about not being able to get extra batteries. I’ve looked at Lowe’s around where I live, I cannot get their 8v batteries at all online, in store, or ordering to store. I really hope they will come out with a replacement, as the form factor is really nice, but I have held off on getting one due to the discontinuation of the line.

@@RcPlayer-tt2vw I was talking about the 8-volt line as a whole and then the screwdriver. From my understanding they won't be building out the 8 volt line as originally intended but current tools are not going anywhere.
