When I marched BD in 84 (soprano bugle), I think I wore shorts one time....and got the back of my knees burnt. Anyone who's been in the corps understands how temperature conditions change at Mars -- surface of the sun in the day, arctic cold at night...you get used to it.

I’m a Glock player for this years CPHS show and I think that it’s a great choice using the white mallets. They don’t give off a hitting sound but just the sound of the board. Awesome job. And of course you gotta use the DTX!

To answer your question, everyone in the pit has a drumpad. They use it to figure out rhythms they’re having trouble with, and they also learn battery part to play more in time with them. Hope this helps :)
