The Escape Room and the Briefcase both show that perps can be people too. Hopefully those two will take their exchanges to heart and turn their lives around: the kid in the Room looked like he was having fun and the guy who stole the briefcase seemed to like the small talk. "shrugs" It could happen. Also, Nolan playing with the drone at the end was adorable

Circumstantial evidence does not mean it is not valid evidence

Circumstantial evidence is just as valid as direct evidence. The only difference is that for circumstantial evidence requires you to draw a conclusion based on an inference. For example, you see someone walk into a building with rainboots on and shaking out an umbrella. Based on that, you can reasonably conclude that it's raining- you don't need to physically be getting soaked to know that it's raining.

Yes it is all circumstantial as is. They can still bring him and the evidence in. They can hold him for either 24, 36, 48, or 72 hours (not sure the Dept. policy or California law on that one) without charging him. They can run the money, drone, remote and drug bag for fingerprints, check his clothes for residue. If they were to go straight to court with what they had without checking for fingerprints, DNA or residue he would probably get off. Most low level crooks arent very smart, and all the prosecutor would need to do is have his fingerprints on the drone or the remote to prove he was dealing. Or even just his fingerprints on the batteries. He may have been smart enough to wear gloves when handling the drugs and money, but very few actually think about batteries or other non illegal items.

Just because you only have circumstantial evidence, that doesn't necessarily mean that the defendant will get off. There have been numerous convictions built off of circumstantial evidence, including murder cases in which the body was never found.

In this movie everything is opposite of real code. #1 in real life there is no argument back and forth when person is holding a gun. Cops would yell put the gun down and on slightest wrong move they would shoot the suspect. Because reality is different.

(1:54) In real life an officer would NEVER pepper spray a suspect and then taze them. There is a high risk that the suspect could catch on fire from the chemicals in the pepper spray reacting to the electric. But it’s still good and I enjoy it!
